Description: Upon hatching, Aria was equally disenchanted by the look of disappointment upon Sonata's face when Sonata realized the male Whismur she had been so hoping for was not going to be. And so Aria began life by pulling herself up by her metaphorical bootstraps and deciding if she was really going to get anywhere she needed a goal.

She found that goal when she learned that Sonata's brother Donovan is not only a skilled vocalist, but also majored in music during his years in college in the hopes of becoming a vocal music teacher.

But how will she convince him to teach her how to be an opera singer?

Description: Cakedancer hatched on Sonata's birthday and is obsessed with birthdays and parties in general because of it. She loves to sing "Happy Birthday" at the top of her lungs during all hours of the day, give random gifts to random people and pokemon, and keep track of the birthdays of everyone at The Pokemon Palace.

If you need to find her, she can often be found in the kitchen, baking cakes and churning up batches of home-made ice cream, despite Donovan's protests that he needs the oven to cook meals and that everyone would get sick to their stomachs if they ate nothing but party food every day.

Species: Roserade
Gender: Male
Description: Mondegreen got his name from his habit of singing along with any song he's listening to or happens to overhear and always getting the lyrics wrong.

Since then, he's developed a penchant for foreign language music, such as J-Rock and mariachi bands, on the basis that no one really notices when he inevitably makes a mistake.

Sonata sympathizes with him, since she does the same thing with her Israel Kamakiwiwo'ole CD... which he has yet to return.

Description: Melinda loves to play the piano and is a very skilled pianist. How she manages to play the piano with wings instead of hands is something that impresses many of the visitors to The Pokemon Palace.

But what Sonata REALLY wants to know is how Melinda managed to get that baby grand piano onto the ROOF of The Pokemon Palace.

Description: RP Monitor can be found consonantly hovering behind Sonata and looking over her shoulder as she surfs the various forum roleplays she's involved in. With every word Sonata types and post she makes, RP Monitor is there to both help and nitpick. Nothing- be it a grammatical slip, a continuity error, or anything contrary to a character's regular personality- escapes RP Monitor's scrutiny.

Sonata's brother Donovan apparently roleplays over instant messenger, but RP Monitor never gets involved with Donovan. Donovan HATES it when people snoop over his shoulder, and RP Monitor knows better now.

Description: Sonata was rather swamped by her To-Do List when this guy hatched, not to mention having a bit of a creative dry spell with naming pokemon. So she handed him a dictionary, saying he had the honor of picking out his own name. He flipped to a random page and chose Tatterdemalion (a defunct synonym for "ragamuffin").

Serves Sonata right for owning a dictionary from 1974. Why not buy a dictionary from this year... or at least AFTER you were born?

I have the two Whismurs because I've been trying for a male Whismur in the hopes of doing a special Twin Peaks themed name and description, but without any luck so far. The beginning of Aria's description vaguely mentions this, while Cakedancer's description is based entirely around the fact that she hatched on my birthday. (I intend on evolving Aria all the way to an Exploud. It's only logical, and I've already planned on doing an "irony because of species/non-evolution" joke/concept with my "Gordon Cole" Whismur, whenever I get him.

My Chatot's name and description are based on someone I know IRL, a friend from church who is a piano teacher and owns a pet parrot.

It's obvious that Lolcat's decription is based on a lolcat caption, but I actually chose a particular caption from my favorite lolcat pic. In fact, Lolcat is a Glameow/Purugly instead of another cat pokemon because Glameow and Purugly look most like the kitten in the pic. That pic makes me smile every time I see it.

I actually do own a dictionary from 1974. It's a condensed edition, too, and full of unusual words that would probably be more suited for 1874 than 1974. I used to have a big, full-sized, hardback edition- the kind typically found in university libraries that you could give someone a concussion with if you dropped in on their head from the roof of a two story house- but that one's been missing for quite some time. Given how large and unwieldy it is, I really can't imagine how it dissappeared. Tatterdemalion's naming actually happened more or less as the description states: I was at a loss for names, so I flipped through my dictionary at random, stumbled upon "tatterdemalion", and then checked the printing date and saw it was printed in 1974. The last two lines are a paraphrase of what I said to myself upon discovering how old my dictionary was.

Can we nominate nicknames, too?

Lex has a Darkrai named Fluffy. It doesn't have a description, but dude, it doesn't NEED a description. IT'S A DARKRAI NAMED FLUFFY.
