IV – Spying
With the Spying gift, the child is given the gift of scrying with their mind. As if having a bird’s eye view of the world, the user can see anything and everything. They can choose to spy on certain person. They can choose to spy on an object to find its location. With the Spying ability the child can see and learn whatever they desire.

Appearance: [/b] Regulus is 5"98' tall and has a slim body, which is slightly-growing muscular built. Although he has some muscle-development, he still seems to have the body of a child, average yet fragile. A softly tanned, smooth skin and clear, heavenly-blue eyes with feline-like pupils are his key attributes, together with his everlasting grin, giving him a tomboyish look. His hair is unruly, of shoulder length and has a soft brown colour that, depending on the light, may rather look like it is vermilion-coloured.

He wears an orange, squared shirt with a dark-blue jeans and black boots, which have the almost identical look of military combat-boots. Above this he wears a thick dark-green jacket, with a small part of fur at the edge of the hood. On the little bags that are sewn into the sleeves the silhouette of a roaring lion's head is depicted.

Personality: Regulus is a guy that always walks around with a smile on his face, no matter the circumstances, giving his friends a better mood when seeing him. Polite and respectful to everyone, as he was taught so by his father, he will not be rude against someone, even if this person turns out to be his enemy, unless this person has done something that isn't to his liking, which doesn't happen very often. Ever since he saw his father's death by one of the magic-haters he's been holding a grudge, rather to defeat this person single-handed than to kill him. As son as he is challenged or needs to fight, Regulus shows his everlasting determination, stamina and fighting spirit, as he will never give in and fight until the end.

He has a kind and forgiving nature, but doesn't know what it is to put strength out of true friendship and compassion, as he never understood what those feelings really were. Thinking strength to surpass others only came by developing yourself and not by feeling the need to protect your beloved ones. The only feeling he really understands is friendship as comrades, not the compassionate part, that is why he can act rash and do things he'll regret later. This may also lead in him doing things like breaking important objects. Others would make a fuss about it and even if they were to explain why, he would only look at it and say he understands, though he doesn't get why they have an emotional link with that object. Furthermore he is an adventurous type and is able to see everything with a critical eye, being able to adapt and even surpass anyone he ever met when it comes it fighting techniques, as he can analyze them perfectly and if necessary, copy and improve it. Thus reaches his inborn intelligence and keen eyesight.

History: Regulus wasn't what you could call the average kind of kid. His mother dying during childbirth and his father being a leading officer of the City Guard, he first got raised by a nanny. As all kids he grew on to become a steady toddler, healthy and bursting with a ridiculous amount of energy to spare. He was still small when his father got arrested for magic-use, even though he saved a dozen of people with it, they didn't care. His father, Ilias, escaped from his cell the night before his death-sentence and fled towards the only city they'd be safe in. Rosenbay. Stories were told about how the magic flourished there, and how all lived in peace. Ilias wanted nothing more then his son to live on in peace, so he would bring him there.

So they traveled across the lands, mountains and fields. Over rivers, through dark forests until they reached the river Shade. Regulus had grown since then, more than expected, since three years had passed after they'd left. His father however was feeling the toll of traveling like this as well, and knew they wouldn't make it in one piece of they'd continue like this. He therefor decided that they'd stay in Fowey. Ilias taught Regulus what he knew about magic, but knew that Regulus himself hadn't inherited magic like he had. But knowledge was might as well, and Ilias didn't want his son to believe magic was a bad thing. Because it wasn't, not at all.

Years passed and Regulus too grew as a young lad, playing around the forest. He never understood his father, why he always sat on an extending rock, meditating. His father had told him that he could communicate with nature itself, talk to the earth, listen to the wind and hear what they had to say. The young boy just never got what was so fun about it anyway, talking to water, earth or the animals. He wanted to learn how to fight, to get strong so he could become someone that could protect the suppressed. His father only nodded, knowing that Regulus was a prodigy as well, be it on an entirely different level.

Regulus trained when Ilias meditated, he fought with the animals in the woods, who only saw him as a meddling brat. One day Ilias had decided to watch Regulus without him knowing and was pleased to see what happened. Hunters had been hunting some deers and Regulus had watched them, cautiously he'd snuck up to them and took a look at their bows for only a brief moment before dashing off. Two hours later he came back with a replica of the bow. Ilias told Regulus to cherish this gift, to train and enhance it as much as he could.

So again several years passed and Regulus now proved to be a smart boy, able to construct everything he saw. Ilias was impressed and worried as well, as he noticed that his own health was faltering quickly. Above that the forest had warned him for an incoming danger, one he could not avoid. A detachment of the Royal Guard had been sent to deal with Ilias and amongst them was one of the most cruelest soldiers Highwick was rich. For a last time Ilias had taken up his arms and donned his armor one last time, for this final fight. He sent Regulus away with the message not to return before the next dawn, which Regulus silently did. An hour later the detachment arrived to deal with Ilias.

He fought as a lion, honoring his nickname as 'The Strongest Lion', able to deal a large amount of damage before falling. Then he noticed how a familiar presence came closer to his broken body. Regulus had seen everything happen, and while tears rolled across his cheeks he begged his father to live, to forgive him for not being able to move and come to his aid. Ilias only smiled as he took off his harnessed gloves and gave them to Regulus, telling him to only use them in his time of need. With his dying breath he said that he 'would now become one with nature' and that Regulus should learn to understand the meaning of bonding with something. After that Ilias passed away in his young son's arms.

All on his own Regulus had no idea what to do. He didn't want to leave his father's grave, and thus decided to guard it together with his armor. His armor had been formed by the magic to take on the form of a golden lion's statue, which Regulus protected with his life. Months passed and those who came looking for it were beaten by Regulus, who had kept his promise of no-one being ever able to touch it. Until one day, that man appeared. As his father, he was a guard that possessed magic, a friend of his father. Being truthful, Regulus entrusted this man with his father's armor and tagged along in going back to a safer haven. But there was that fated day, the day when they crossed through Hythe, everything changed.

Walking around the streets of Hythe he was watched by some men in odd uniforms, they asked him questions and left without saying another word. Following them, he recognized one of the men's superiors to be his father's murderer and prepared himself to get ready for a show-down. That moment never came however, as a quick crackling sound accompanied a terrible pain in his chest before his body started to feel warm again. Then the light faded from his eyes, and thus his life. The last thing he felt was the cold floor he fell upon and a deep voice saying that they'd found number four.

Other: Regulus' weapons are two golden gauntlets that, when worn, transform into a protective arm-gear. The arm-gear is topnotch, being a prototype of an energy-based weapon. It makes Regulus able to enhance his magic orbs, which can be used as projectiles, or summon a large two-handed which he can use to fight others with. The gauntlets make it able for him to use the sword as if it weighs nothing.

The name Elluka makes me think of a vocaloid song. I forget the name but it was the one telling the story of how the Sin Series came to be with the entire "burning your mother in an oven" thing

That's uh... hard to explain to be honest. Its also an anime, but they haven't animated the entire manga yet

Its actually about a holy war between the godess Athena and the King of the underworld Hades, who are both reincarnated as humans in the 17th century. (During the Renaissance) Every 200 years they fight each other, the winner may determine the fate of earth. Hades wants it to be destroyed, Athena wants it to say the way it is. Each party has his own army, Athena has her Saints, they were cloths that represent every constellation in the sky, and Hades has his spectres, who each are a counterpart for Athena's saints. The strongest amongst the Saints are the Gold Saints, who each represent a Zodiac constellation; Regulus is this era's Leo gold saint.

However, amongst these saints there is only one that can kill Hades, this being the Pegasus Saint, who is reincarnated every 200 years well. He sides with Athena and always seems to have a special bond with the godess' reincarnation. In this era all the reincarnations were raised together in an orphanage. Athena, then still named Sasha, was adopted by a Gold Saint who brought her to a safer haven, the Sanctuary. So the ones left behind and becoming best friends are Tenma, who is the incarnation of the pegasus saint, and Alone, the vessel of Hades.

The story unfolds when Tenma goes off to train with the Libra gold saint in order to become a saint after saving the orphanage during a storm, while Alone stays behind and gets noticed by his sister Pandora. Eventually Alone will accept the fact that he is the vessel of Hades and wants the world to know the ultimate salvation, Death. Then the holy war starts for real and the eternal war begins anew.

I really like it though, its my favorite manga, so I'd really recommend it to you. As would I with the anime xD The full name is 'Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas'

VIII – Piercing
The Piercing ability allows a slight control over time. While they can not rewind time or go jump around in time, they can temporarily stop time. The Piercing ability must be focused on someone or something in order to work. They can freeze someone or something in time for several seconds to several minutes, as if they were made of plastic and not human flesh.

Appearance:
A petite girl at just barely over five feet, Rhea has managed to contain much of her innocent looks. She has short black hair that can be tied up into a small ponytail, and she’ll often wear old silver clips to keep her bangs out of her dark grey eyes. Her face and skin is less than perfect – sun burnt, dirty, and covered in blemishes – but Rhea doesn’t mind much. She enjoys it like this compared to the “proper lady look” she grew up with. She often has a few scratches and bruises on her, and she has a habit of biting her nails when she’s bored or nervous.

Rhea doesn’t have the best of clothes, often wearing old hand downs or whatever old clothes people don’t want anymore. She often tries to sew up whatever rips or tears are in her clothes, but the repairs aren’t very good and don’t hold for long. She wears an old brown button-down dress shirt with a black vest over it, with a faded crest of roses on the back. Often she wears a pretty pink silk ribbon around her neck as a bowtie, which she tries to keep good care of and often washes it.

For lower wear, she has a pair of old jeans, ripped at the knees and frayed at the bottom. She has a simple brown belt to hold them, and Rhea often puts random knickknacks in her pockets. This can be anywhere from shiny rocks to hair pins or even something "borrowed" from one of the market stalls. Rhea wears a pair of old steel-toed work boots. They're a faded black colour.

Personality:
Never considering herself as anything special, Rhea tries her best to live up to her mother's legacy. She has strong morals and has been raised to be patient and kind, but as much as she'll give out scraps of bread to the hungry orphans she'll easily snap when angry or under pressure. Rhea tries to help where she can, but she often runs head first into things rather than standing back and thinking things out. She's very hasty and can often not notice certain things. Otherwise, she's clumsy and tends to misplace things or break them. A lot of times Rhea will bite off more than she can chew, quickly becoming overwhelmed with tasks and problems. She isn't very good under pressure, often snapping at everyone and panicking to the point where she can't do anything. Her intentions may be good, but she often ends up doing more harm than good.

Although not far from being physically strong, Rhea considers her will power and mental endurance to be pretty good. She isn’t easily swayed by other people’s opinions or gossip, and is known to be stubborn in her beliefs. Although she tries to listen to what everyone thinks, she won’t often listen to others and just do her own thing. However Rhea will refuse to harm someone else, even if they’ve wronged her. She believes that everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves right, and that no one is truly evil.

History:
Rhea always considered herself lucky. Having been born in Highwick and had lived there for most of her early childhood, she wasn't exposed to the harshness and sickness of Hythe at first. Her mother was once a high ranked officer in the City Guard, well respected and liked by the citizens of Highwick. She married a young baker, and together they had two children. The oldest, Camilla, and then four years later baby Rhea was brought into the world. While Camilla flourished into a gorgeous young woman with a smart mind, Rhea inherited much more plain looks and was never as intelligent as Camilla was. But Rhea tried her best to follow in her sister’s footsteps, no matter the challenge it was.

The family lived in relative peace until Rhea was about five. During the time, a scandal was threatening the Highwick Guard of their own guards working and helping magic folk that had somehow made their way into Highwick. Several officers were taken into custody, and many of them were later killed. While her mother was never taken into custody, she refused to testify against her fellow guards. She saw them as her family. Thus, once the date of the trials went pass, her mother received a letter in the mail from the Highwick Government.

She was to hand in her Highwick Guard uniform and move to Hythe with the rest of her family. She was being demoted into Hythe Patrol.

The news brought a crushing blow to both of Rhea’s parents, both unprepared for Hythe and worried about their children. Despite it all, her mother kept her head held high and left Highwick without a single complaint. She’d show them. Thanks to one of her father’s old friends, they managed to secure a place to stay. It was small and cramped, but they had to make it work. Rhea was soon taught what she needed to know by Camilla as her parents went out to work. Hythe Patrol had no benefits and little pay – soon, instead of guarding Hythe, her mother had gotten a job to guard a small place similar to a casino and brothel put together. Her father managed to secure a job working with another merchant, trading and selling what he could get.

Life wasn’t well. Rhea was forbidden to leave home, as her parents feared she’d be taken and sold into slavery or a brothel, while Camilla stayed home to care for what little possessions they had. Eventually, as they grew older, Rhea would be sent out on small errands and Camilla had developed a habit of sneaking out. They were as steady as they could be. Yet, during a harsh Hythe winter, her father grew ill. Without the money to send for a doctor or to buy medicine, he was one of many to die. He was buried without a coffin in a grave marked with only a crude cross made out of wood. Rhea was ten, and her mother began to work double shifts and Camilla began to stay out much longer than before.

For two years Rhea chose to ignore her sister’s constant absence, instead sneaking out herself to try and secure the odd job here and there. There wasn’t much that people wanted a teenager for, and most paid her very little. Yet as the years passed Rhea came across her sister’s hidden stashes over and over again, small holes made in the walls that were covered by furniture or broken floorboards with holes in the ground under them. Eventually, Rhea could count four little spots filled with a small bag. Each bag had little coins in them, and Rhea decided to start following her sister out.

In the next year, Rhea learned that her sister was now selling herself out to others in Hythe. She held her tongue, wishing not to get Camilla in trouble or worse. Whenever she couldn’t find something to do, Rhea would follow Camilla around Hythe. Many times she just wanted to run up to Camilla and get her to stop, but she never did. The only time she ever went up to Camilla, or tried to, was the day she was stopped by the Royal Guard. They asked strange questions, and she quickly answered, but by the time they left she had lost sight of Camilla.

The next day, Rhea got ready before dawn and snuck out from the house. She knew Camilla was already out and wanted to meet with her before she went anywhere. Yet like all other times, Camilla wasn’t alone. Instead of some older man wanting her, a pair of guards was actually harassing her. Rhea recognized them as the guards from yesterday, and in a rash decision she tried to help her sister.

She didn’t get very far. In the few moments between a knife stabbing into her chest and total darkness, the last thing she saw was Camilla’s shocked face.

Appearance: May has scarlet red hair stretching completely down her back. Her bangs are long as well and stretch about halfway down her face, often covering her eyes. Her eyes can sometimes still be seen through her hair, though, with their brilliant red glare. She often wears an almost indecisive expression on her face, but it hides her emotions. She wears a black jacket, which has long sleeves reaching to her wrists, and a skirt that reaches to her lower thigh. Black stockings cover the rest of her leg with a small gap between the bottom of her skirt and the top of her stockings. She wears black shoes to match. On her back rests a long silver bladed katana, which she is quite skilled with for teaching herself. She only stands about 5'6", which she decides is short to herself. She is thin, almost starved looking, and moves fluently as a flowing symphony.

Personality: (And this is where I always bomb... Personality is my downfall.) May is quiet and keeps to herself a lot. She would rather the world be silent besides the sounds of nature. Her connection with nature is something no one knows; but her appearance to Hythe leads some to speculate what her connection is. Talking to people is her downfall, and she will probably always struggle with it. Nothing about people in general has led her to want to speak with nay of them.

History: May's history is a question that many ponder about. The small girl simply suddenly appeared in town five years ago, and her talent with a katana as well as her connection to nature draws people to try to come up with an explanation. Many, if not all, are completely false. And only May knows the complete truth.

May was born and raised, up until the age of 9, that is, in a small town called Yun. Her father was the one who raised her as her mother had died giving birth to her. She always sensed a feeling of regret from her father towards her, and it was mostly because he felt that she had killed his loving wife.

Cast out at the age of 9 for memories May chooses to supress she found herself alone in the world. She was nearly 60 miles from Hythe, and the only thing she had was a katana she managed to steal before her father cast her out forever, not even caring that she was carrying a long sword. She was alone in the wild with only the sounds of nature. She grew to love the quiet of nature and found that she could fend for herself. She was steadily and steadily moving towards Hythe, though.

Hythe appeared in her view after 2 years of her alone in the wild. Her skills with a katana had improved with her self training and she walked into town. The noises of people and civiliation nearly deafened her, and before she could escape out of town a guard began asking her questions. (Keep in mind not THOSE questions) She, in her quick thinking, told the guard that she was visiting an uncle and would be on her way. She never was able to escape the city; as they say curiosity killed the cat.

She spent 5 years in the city as she grew accustomed to ignoring the sounds of the city and keeping to herself. Most people only talked for some sort of gain so she decided to stay away from them as much as possible. Sadly a guard talked to her one day and asked her the questions. Not long after she was dead.

Dying for her was a shock. She hadn't been able to be around the nature she loved, the quiet of the forests and plains and the chirp of birds. She hadn't been able to find herself sitting under the shade of a tree, enjoying the cool shade. She had been stuck in civilization where she could not escape, and she found out she would die there. Reincarnation was a blessing to her because it meant a second chance to return to nature.
