What is the sales tax where you live? In Derby, Kansas it's 6.8%.
If you don't want to say the city where you live that's fine. I don't want anyone to feel pressured or anything, I'm just curious (at least say your state/country/etc, ya?). For anyone that cares I'll post other people's responses here once we get a couple. To figure out your sales tax simply buy something and look at the receipt - it should be right under the subtotal and before the actual amount you paid. ... -totally not random at all- Click for Percents (click to show )

In Wichita (which is only a couple minutes away) it's about 6.5%. So.. even though it doesn't vary much from city to city, it does vary a little.

In Finland - It was 17% but it droped few months ago to 12%
Edit: Oh forgot this. And its 22% when you buy for example medicines, CDs or DVDs. Anyone know if this happens in the US too and I've just been extremely unobservant? Or is it just a Finland (and possibly other places) thing? Edit: Zamison, if you don't mind me asking, what state do you live in? This post has been edited by Picanco: Mar 22 2010, 09:56 PM -------------------- |

Anything over 10k in Australia has a 10% sales tax thrown on top of it. (Cars, vacant land, ETC)
Stuff like food, miscellaneous goods from a shop, ETC has nothing added. |

It's 8.1% in Nevada, though the military bases don't have any sales tax whatsoever. However...getting into said military bases is a completely different obstacle.

In my school we are cutting back classes (one of which I wanted to take :'[) and teachers, and yet we got a new SRO officer (think guard) and all the teachers got Macs last year. It doesn't make any sense. Budget cuts suck.
Anyone else wanna share their tax percents? -------------------- |
