Ugh, this was an awful SWSH for me. At least I managed to hatch one!

And looking forward to the new novelty and eventually to shiny hunting it.

...Seriously? A GIRAFARIG novelty and one that looks hideous? That's about the last thing I expected. How come I have yet to like a prize novelty from a SWSH I participated in?

I wasn't expecting a spring novelty yet either since it's winter, but still. I was hoping for something way better than this for my first successful SWSH, like another holiday novelty. And right now, I'm not sure I want to even use my voucher.

Calling something someone put work into 'hideous' isn't really very polite. If you don't like the novelty, I'm sorry, but at least have respect for the person who sprited the egg and Pokemon.

And if you don't want to use the voucher, use it anyway and abandon the Pokemon. I'm sure someone would pick it up and appreciate it.

You are more than perfectly capable of wording things in a way that is not downright rude and nasty. You are not required to like something. That does not mean you are allowed to insult and degrade the work of others, be it staff work or even work a regular user did (I'm not accusing you of the later, just using it as part of comparison).

Almost all you've done in this thread is whine. Enough is enough. If you do something like this again in the near future, you can expect more than just a warn out of it.

Wow. That is a level of rude I was not expecting as I thought the sprite was the cutest thing ever and the result of hardwork and generosity by one of our contributors.


Anyhow, let's not forget that there are people on the other end of these computers. And there are people who are the ones who make this site what it is. And those people have feelings.

More or less what Vibrancy said, but also, if you don't like the sprite personally that doesn't make it "hideous." Furthermore, since one of the hunt Pokemon was Girafarig, it shouldn't be a total surprise... not that there's a novelty of a hunted Pokemon every SWSH, but it isn't exactly unprecedented when one is.

Really, if you don't like something that's one thing, but you seriously need to watch your words. They make a world of difference between expressing disappointment and just coming off like a jerk.

Hey, I was just being honest. I like this novelty even less than those of the last two SWSHs I entered, and even less than a regular Girafarig. I'm sorry, but this is just how I feel. The egg is nice, though.

And I'll consider using the voucher anyway and just abandoning the Pokemon.

Still, I was really hoping for a holiday novelty like Red-Nosed Deerling/Sawsbuck (based off of Rudolf) or something. That would've been so cute.

Also, just to add.

If you had a successful Shiny Hunt in the first place, you should appreciate it. There are tons of people who didn't get one shiny, and I'm sure some of them see the novelty and love it, and are really disappointed.

It really is the way you say things. If you don't like the novelty, ok, but you have the shinies, prize points, and knowing you succeeded. It's not like you're totally left in the cold.

The novelty is cute Can't wait to see what the shiny version looks like!

I wanted an Icy Mienfoo that trained in the cold and became some sort of cold-hearted karate master.
That being said, cute sprite, kind of looks like a snow giraffe.

Man, I couldn't find my second Mienfoo in time...

I guess I can either I can cancel it, keep it going or get back to my normal hunts and continue it later

Hey, I never said I didn't appreciate the fact that I finally had a successful hunt. I do appreciate it and I'm happy I finally hatched at least one shiny for once. And I also feel for those who couldn't hatch a shiny in time, because I know exactly how that feels. I've been there, and it's disappointing. I'm really sorry some folks just couldn't get lucky. I wish you all better luck in January!

Ok, I'm glad to hear that. Just try and make sure you word things a little more carefully next time, ok? It really does make things better for everyone. Trust me, I've been on both sides of this before, so I understand, but no one needs their feelings hurt!

Oh, I know. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, nor was I intending to "whine" at any point in this thread. I just wanted to have a good time and maybe even make some friends. And I did seem to find a friend in Samoo. I was just really disappointed that I ended up really disliking the prize novelty for my first successful SWSH. And truth be told, when I get annoyed, I sometimes don't think before I act... So I apologize.

There is a VERY clear difference between honesty and outright malice. You fall into the latter category. Honestly, your previous* post just takes the cake.

*previous being the first post you made at the conclusion of the hunt













Here's just a few choice ones. I've ignored some of the less blatant ones. I've also ignored other posts in OTHER threads of you whining, multiple times, about not completing the SWSH for the month.

My advice, pretty simply, is that maybe you should relegate your quick tongue to the Gear Grinders thread.

Not hating on anything, but for reasons... I'm disappointed the novelty is of a Girafarig. BECAUSE I looked up the drama of the voting fiasco and the species that got snuck in was Girafarig. therefore, if the novelty HAD to be of 1 of the 3 choices, then choosing the one who shouldn't have been there... it seems sketchy to me. I love the novelty aesthetically, don't get me wrong, but I, personally, still find the principles behind it as an "ok" choice not so great.

In fact, I would have preferred it being a Girafarig novelty without girafarig even being in the SWSH (or if it got in fair and square)... the tropius one && pudgy pidgey and the blue stone weren't related the the choices, after all.

The coincidence just bothers me. That's all I've got to say.

Let me reiterate, I don't think it's "hideous" or bad. I actually am curious to how it is "hideous". It seems downright adorable to me. And it's not like it's bad spriting...or anything displeasing from an unbiased artistic perspective. <__<

...I fail to see how most of those are even close to whining at all. The last one, I'll give you. Also, next time, I wish to be PMed about this instead of humiliated in public. I feel downright embarrassed now. I've apologized, so let's just end this.

While I can understand the levels of frustration with the month of November what with my Stepmom passing last Friday and all sorts of other drama including that of previous Novembers, Just because a Novelty at the end of the month isn't the one you wanted it to be doesn't mean you can just go on an all out attack, like it seems to have been all month. Yeah there was issues with the hunt from the start thanks to a few proxiers, though I bet there's even more conspiracies now seeing as the Novelty is Girafaraig. Yeah the SWSH itself can be annoying what with Thanksgiving and Black Friday and various other things that you might have had throughout the month. But you need to learn to cool the jets before posting.

Oh well, let's move on to December.

And before anyone points out some crap I posted 3 years ago in #gtsplus about how I wasn't fond of Remorage. Shut up, that was 3 years ago and I've matured and learned to love Octillerage.

EDIT: just saw the post that was made while I was posting. There's whining written all over that post. You whined about the unbalancedness of the Affinities. You claimed mods play favourites. Kept pointing out you disliked your shiny hunt choice. And you also kept saying Girafarig was stupid. You need to stop while you're behind.

I'm not sure if it was a long day at work or what but when I got my egg from the voucher I didn't think about it being a girafarig at all XD It is so downright adorbs ahdfdshfjds If the shiny is really neat I'm going to totes hunt it Who made it anyway? <3
