It's December! We'll be hosting a number of events to bring an end to GPX's best year. This year, we're going to recognize Hanukkah on top of Christmas. Since December is a month all about giving and receiving, throughout the entire month, whenever you purchase 5 credits for another user, you will receive 1 free credit. Purchased the 20 Credits package for someone else? You'll get 4 free credits. These free credits do not enable nor extend the ability to disable advertisements. Trinket collector? During the first 25 days, the first Pokéchest you open each day will contain 6 December trinkets. Chance Power will not affect this chest. The Scavenger Hunt this month will begin on the 8th and end on the 25th. More details on this will come later. Two or more events will run between the 8th and the 16th, the days that Hanukkah takes place this year. More details will come later. The "Twelve Days of Christmas" Exploration will be available starting on the 13th and will run until the 25th. More events will be announced throughout the month! The Hanukkah event To honor the lighting of the candles, you will earn 1 coin for every fire-type you hatch. You will also earn 20 coins when you complete the daily Scavenger task. These coins are completely separate from all other currencies on the site. You may use these coins to spin the dreidel, which has 4 sides to it. Depending on the side that it lands on, the following will happen: you will lose the coins you played, you will double the coins you played, you will lose half the coins you played, or you will simply get back what you put in and be able to spin again without waiting. You can only spin it once every 15 minutes (unless it lands on Shin). You can only play with the coins you've earned during the current day, rather than your full total. New stats have been introduced: coins (total, throughout all the days), coins today (the net amount you've earned today), and a stat for the most amount you earned in a day. Losing coins to the dreidel affects both your total coins and coins today stats. The amount of coins you earn throughout the entire 8 days of Hanukkah will determine what prize you will get after the event ends, which will be on the 16th. Prizes Update for Hanukkah Event The Hanukkah event is now over, and prizes have been distributed, based off of the number of coins you collected over the past eight days. - If you collected 100 coins or more, for every 100 coins you collected, you earned 1 Prize Point. - If you collected less than 100 coins, you earned 50 points per coin collected. - If you collected 250 coins or more, in addition to Prize Points, you received a Special Evolution Item that can be used on Litwick. It will also go on sale in the Prize Shop tomorrow (and will be available through other means once it leaves the Prize Shop as well). The Twelve Days of Christmas Exploration is now enabled. It will run until reset on Christmas night. Secret Santa Exchange This year, as in past years, we'll be having a Secret Santa exchange. You'll be able to, starting immediately, submit a Pokemon, and at reset on Christmas Eve (11:55 PM EST on December 24th), you'll receive a randomly selected Pokémon of the same rarity (with summonable Legendaries + Manaphy in a separate category from Exploration-only ones). I'd suggest you all read the Help section on Exchanges before doing anything, as submitting a Pokémon is irreversible, yup yup! EDIT: Note that the Pokemon either must be submitted out of your party, or you must have a free slot in your party, yup yup. Boxing Day Today only, all previous event vouchers are available in the Prize Shop and everything in the Prize Shop is discounted by up to 15%! Holy crap you guys are my favorites for the Trinket thing (even though the title pun is making me die on the inside). I am going to collect and I am going to do it in style. Can't wait to find out what those other events are! ... and if there's anything interesting in it for me :> Happy holidays and stuff, everyone!

Mmyes, GPX, the spirit of giving is HIGH THIS YEAR. Good show. And I love that we get one "here's December trinkets only" chest a day. I don't even COLLECT trinkets all that much, but that is AWESOME.

merry krismahannakwanza!
*Chrismhannakwanza? Bah, does there even need to be a correct spelling for all-encompassing winter holiday? (whether or not the "source" of the holiday is appreciated or not... e.g. the show) In any case, as a non-theist, I appreciate all-encompassing. edit: fun gpx+ stuff during december is ballin'. snow ballin'. :'B This post has been edited by Boogie Ronnster: Dec 1 2012, 12:09 AM -------------------- Call me Ronnie (or Ronnster) Please :> NOTICE: I'm not that active at this moment so I will be uber slow with PMs and might not clickback or whatever. I like the update for trinkets. Maybe I'll finish a set for once. XD Thank you, guys!
However, I have a question about the gifting element of the festivities that was sparked by the gifting perk this month. If someone gifts you credits, but you are still a donator receiving the old benefits, it doesn't switch you to the new benefits if you were to use those credits, does it? Edit: It just hit me that I have finals this month. Oi. Luckily those are over by the 17th. THANK YOU for including Hannukah! There are a LOT of other holidays during this season, and other reasons for celebrating even Christmas than the standard. I'm really looking forward to what all is going to happen this year!
Any chance we'll have a gifting event again? -------------------- |
