Appearance: At six feet even, Nikado is pretty tall, with a slim, athletic build. His straight black hair is pulled into a tight ponytail which falls partway down his back, a few loose strands falling into his eyes. Those are dark blue in color and usually have a twinkle in them. He has smooth, rounded features that may make him appear to be younger than he is, and he's careful to stay clean-shaven. He has an olive-toned complexion. He can almost always be found in his Ranger uniform, which consists of a red and white jacket over a white and black shirt, comfortable black pants with a belt containing multiple pouches, and matching boots.

Personality: There are many words you can use to describe Nikado. "Angsty" "Serious" and "Certainly Not Annoying" are not among them. Some find his charm and enthusiasm enthralling; others find it incredibly irritating. Despite his occasional immaturity or melodrama, he's not entirely unsensible, and tends to be laidback, big-picture-oriented rather than detail-oriented. He gets along with all kinds of people and pokemon alike, and loves performing captures, seeing it as both a challenge of power and a chance for a new friend.


Biography: Nikado's parents were both employed at Altru, and spent an unhealthy time at their job, so at a young age Nikado was largely raised by a nanny until he was old enough to feed and dress himself. Stuck in the house for large periods of time, Nikado started out as spoiled and bratty, eventually slipping out and getting involved in rougher sorts of trouble, getting in fights with other kids and teens. He would have probably continued on the downward spiral if he hadn't found out about his parents' hobby.

His father in particular rather fancied the idea of being a Pokemon trainer, and as such had bought a Torchic to train and use in the sparse battles with friends from the company and around town. The unfortunate thing was that his father was not really meant to do this sort of thing, because he was horrible at it, as his Torchic would attest. Nikado felt sympathy for the little creature which would constantly come back injured or fainted, and eventually asked his father to give it to him. His father said no, possibly the first time he had ever done so. Being the spoiled teen he was, Nikado wasn't used to 'no'. On the evening of his eightteenth birthday, he took some clothes, the allowance he'd saved up, and the Torchic, and walked out, leaving only the smashed Pokeball behind.

Going south, the pair came across the Ranger School outside Veintown. Surprised at the contrast between Nikado's brattiness toward people and his empathy with pokemon, he was half-invited, half-challenged to enroll. Introduced to a more normal socialization, the brat was slowly beaten out of him. Upon graduation, he became a Ranger of Veiltown's base. Now, his base leader, feeling he has enough experience under his belt, has encouraged him to get out in the world and see what good he can do elsewhere.

Toneri is Nikado's partner pokemon. Despite his 'civilized' name, Toneri is not a calm presence and can be aggressive if provoked. He doesn't care for most humans, but enjoys participating in captures with his partner. Although he can be quite stubborn, he listens to Nikado; the two have excellent communication.


Items: A Ranger's standard supply kit: a few potions and some status-recovery berries, rope and a set of tools, a spare uniform, and of course, his Capture Styler, the baton and disc tool he uses for performing captures. He also has a small amount of cash.


What is the biscuit's name? The answer is... Bertha.
Other Notes: Captures are usually to calm down agitated pokemon, and are usually released right away. Sometimes a pokemon is used to perform a single Target Clear (such as removing an obstacle) before being released. Nikado's rank is not high enough to allow him to bring a pokemon from its native area.
