Powers: If she breathes in toxins in the air, they are dissolved within her body and turned into pure, fresh air when she exhales. However, if too many toxins get into her lungs at a time and she cannot filter them out, she lets out a powerful blast of energy that causes any plants in its range to enter a rapid, frenzied growth (also known as Seed Flare). Also, if she comes in contact with the rare gracidea flower, she temporarily gains the ability to fly.
Side: Neutral

Appearance: Maya's white-blonde hair is cut unusually short for a girl, barely coming down to her ears on the sides and just touching her neck in the back. She has an apricot skin tone, not uncommon for people who grew up in Floaroma, with a hint of red near her nose and cheeks. Her eyes are fairly large and light green in color, while her nose is much more petite. She stands at a meager five feet, one inch, and weighs around one hundred and five pounds, she is quite small in build and stature. Her short-cut hair, general tininess, and lacking...feminine physique lead her to appear much younger than she actually is - in fact, on very rare occasions, she is even mistaken for a boy.

Maya is most commonly seen wearing one of her plain, loose-fitting hooded jackets - she has a light green one and a white one - over one of the various t-shirts that she owns. On her legs, she wears blue jeans that come down just below her knees; and simple green sneakers on her feet. She has a pair of small, pink pearl earrings that she is near-constantly wearing, as well as a bracelet made of similar pearls to match. She also owns a red bandana that she occasionally will wear, usually as a scarf by tying it around her neck.

Personality: Endlessly curious and a little hyperactive, Maya almost never seems to be in a bad mood. She often gets overexcited about meeting new people, discovering new places, and just about anything else that a girl could get excited about. She is also constantly asking questions about everything around her and she always seems to have a lot to say, usually to the annoyance of others, but she pays that no mind. Since she grew up homeschooled in a rather small town, there is still a lot about the world that she doesn't quite understand yet.

Although she has a few close friends, Maya prefers the company of Pokémon to that of other people. Sometimes, she even feels as if she can relate to the creatures more than she can to her fellow humans - to her, the feelings of Pokémon are much simpler and easier to understand than those of humans. When alone with her Pokémon, she acts so serene and peaceful that it's hard to believe it's the same girl. Even so, Maya would much rather be surrounded by people than completely alone - after all, if there's no one around, who's going to listen to her? She doesn't act any differently whether she's with a close friend or in a large group of strangers, remaining her usual bouncy and inquisitive self in either situation.

Maya prefers to be out in the countryside and isn't particularly fond of big cities, mostly because she is afraid that the pollution in the air will cause another Seed Flare incident. She adores the natural world, and if you do (or aim to do) something that greatly upsets the balance of nature, she will be very angry with you and probably won't like you very much. However, even if she seems to despise you, it isn't especially difficult to regain Maya's trust. This is because she sees a potential - even if a very small one - for everyone she meets to be a good person, regardless of what they did in the past.

She was home-schooled most of her life, meaning her social skills aren't the best. Oftentimes, she will say something rash or hurtful unintentionally, unless her friend Desmond is there to control her. She's quite intelligent in terms of book smarts, but she's quite lacking in the field of street smarts, and sometimes she can't figure out how to apply her knowledge to real-life situations.

History: Maya was born in the beautiful little town of Floaroma, Sinnoh. Her mother owned a small flower shop there, while her father was a skilled Pokémon trainer as well as a teacher who home-schooled her for most of her life. From him, she didn't just learn the things that children were always expected to know; she was also taught much about raising and battling with Pokémon. This, combined with the fact that she bonded with Pokémon very easily, led her to be a skilled trainer herself even at a young age.

Growing up, most of Maya's friends were the Pokémon that visited her hometown; she found that it was much easier for her to befriend the creatures than it was to befriend humans. She always dreamed of traveling across Sinnoh with her Pokémon friends by her side. However, she was quite the sickly child when she was younger, leading her parents to be a bit overprotective of her. Until she was fifteen, when her parents took her to Oreburgh to see her grandparents and she proved herself by defeating the local Gym Leader with some of the Pokémon she had begun to train, she was forbidden to even leave Floaroma.

As she and her parents were heading home from this trip, an event occurred that would change Maya's life. She had suddenly entered a severe coughing fit, and with no recollection of what had happened afterward, she had whited out right in the middle of Route 204. However, the news on television - and everywhere else, really - all over western Sinnoh, telling about the severe damage the route had sustained after it had been overrun by wild, rapidly growing vines, gave her a general idea of what had occurred.

Although she didn't know why it had happened, Maya was devastated when she learned that Route 204's destruction was great enough that it was closed down until further notice, and probably great enough to endanger the lives of the Pokémon who called the area home. In fact, she could hardly live with the knowledge that this was her fault. On a whim, she decided to run away - far away from the damage she had caused. The next year of her life was spent almost entirely on the run, with only her Pokémon friends for company.

Until, that is, she reached the port city of Sunyshore. As she was visiting the local Pokémon Center, she overheard some of the cityfolk talking about a mysterious young man from Oreburgh who had returned from challenging Sinnoh's Elite Four. Rumors said that he had psychic powers, being able to read and control minds. Many people were referring to him as a 'freak'. The sweet little country girl that was Maya felt sorry for him, so she decided to find him and talk to him. She found out that his name was Desmond, and he had indeed challenged the Elite Four, although he had lost. He was more than hesitant to tell her anything when she asked about his supposed psychic powers.

After Maya told the young man her story, he suddenly had an urge to tell her that he was about to take a ship to Hoenn, and that she should probably come with him. Since she hadn't had a proper place to stay for quite a while now, and due to the urgent nature of his request, she had to accept his offer, even though she hardly knew him. During the few weeks they spent on the ship, the two quickly became friends. Desmond told her that what she'd heard about his psychic powers was true, for the most part, and that they were given to him by the legendary Pokémon Mesprit. Upon Mesprit's telepathic request, he was going to Lilycove in search of other 'Chosen' like himself; and when he met Maya, he decided that she should come too, as he suspected from her story about the Route 204 incident that she was another of the chosen. Who knows what will happen to the duo as they arrive in the unfamiliar region of Hoenn...

Extra: The world may never know...Also, Shaymin has never attempted to communicate with Maya, her reason being, "I have better things to do all day than chat with ungrateful human children." :P She will probably make some attempt to talk to her in the future, though.

Nickname: Buddy
Gender: Male
Ability: Natural Cure - If Buddy is recalled to his pokéball, he is able to heal himself of any major status ailment he might have.
Nature: Careful. In battle, he is overly cautious, as well as very protective of his teammates. For this reason, his trainer has taught him more support than attacking moves. He was Maya's first and closest Pokémon friend, and is very protective of her.
Moveset: Giga Drain / Grasswhistle / Water Sport / Aromatherapy

Pokemon: Buizel
Nickname: Jet
Gender: Male
Ability: Swift Swim - Jet's speed is doubled during rain.
Nature: Hasty. He doesn't like to sit and think out a strategy, and would rather jump right into the action and wing it. He's also very stubborn, and refuses to evolve, despite being rather high in level. When he first met Maya, he was severely injured, and she and her parents helped nurse him back to help. He greatly respects his trainer because of this.
Moveset: Aqua Jet / Swift / Pursuit / Agility

Pokemon: Buneary
Nickname: Cotton
Gender: Female
Ability: Run Away - Cotton is able to escape from any wild battle.
Nature: Timid. She was raised as a pet all of her life, and because of this, she isn't very strong and doesn't like to fight. She was given to Maya as a fifteenth birthday present.
Moveset: Attract / Fake Tears / Pound / Quick Attack

Nickname: Lucinda
Gender: Female
Ability: Intimidate - Upon entering battle, the attack stat of Lucinda's opponent is reduced by one stage.
Nature: Sassy. She's very conceited proud of herself and will constantly show off make sure everyone knows how special she is. She's also quite the rebel and often disobeys her trainer, thinking she is far above any human. She was the first Pokémon that Maya caught in battle, and she hates it when people try to shorten her name.

Powers: He has strong empathetic abilities, as he can easily sense the feelings of other people. To an extent, he can also control the emotions of others, especially the weak-minded. He also has some weak psychic powers, such as being able to move small objects or speak to some people using telepathy.
Side: Neutral

Appearance: Standing at six feet, two inches and weighing one hundred and seventy pounds of mostly muscle, Desmond's appearance is rather intimidating. His shaggy, deep red hair hangs over his face in several places and gives the impression that he rarely bothers to clean it. His tiny hazel eyes are barely noticeable at first, but most who look into them immediately look away in fear. He has a tanned skin tone from much rigorous outdoor training with his Pokémon, and this is also where his muscular build comes from.

He almost always wears a hooded jacket that is entirely navy blue, aside from a vertical white stripe on each side of the zipper. If he gets too hot, he has several t-shirts in various shades of blue that he can wear instead. Around his waist, he wears a simple brown belt with slots to carry a team of six Pokémon; and on his back, he wears a plain white backpack for carrying his clothes and important items. On his legs, he chooses to wear a worn-out pair of jeans.

Personality: Of all the people in the world to bestow its powers onto, it's a wonder Mesprit chose Desmond. Despite having the ability to sense the emotions of others, he just doesn't give a damn, to put it bluntly, about them or anything other than his own personal goals. He honestly despises his powers, since he just doesn't care what anyone around him is feeling. When Mesprit tries to communicate with him, he usually just tells her to shut up - he really wishes a cooler legendary gave him better powers. Yes, Desmond has quite a lot to learn.

Desmond usually distances himself from people, as he fears confrontation. Under normal circumstances, it takes him what seems like an eternity to trust a fellow human. In fact, the only other human he seems to trust at the moment is Maya - mostly because she didn't immediately view him as a freak after learning about his powers. When he does grow to trust someone, most of the time he isn't one to show it, since he usually hides his emotions even from the ones he trust. This makes it quite difficult for others to tell who his friends are.

Unlike his impulsive friend Maya, Desmond usually is not one to rush into things recklessly. Before he makes a final decision, he actually sits down and thinks it over thoroughly, making sure the benefits outweigh the risks. He is often the one to stop Maya from accidentally saying anything rash. Due to this, he sometimes can even seem more polite than her. However, on the rare occasion that he is severely angered, he will revert to making hasty decisions in his fit of rage.

History: Desmond was born in Oreburgh City, to a family of hard-working coal miners. At a young age - before he was even old enough to work in the coal mines - he was given the task of caring for Dynamo, his family's Machop. He became great friends with the Pokémon, and for a while, he was his only friend. Growing up, Desmond didn't care much about school or a social life, and more so about caring for Dynamo and working in the coal mines. This led him to, for the most part, avoid other people like the plague and ignore them if they tried to talk to him. At the time, he didn't really care what others thought of him, and he didn't think he needed any other friends besides Dynamo.

One fateful day, fourteen-year-old Desmond was on a school field trip to Lake Verity. It was a particularly hot and humid day for the area around Twinleaf and Sandgem, and many of the other students were complaining that they were too hot and wanted to go home, much to Desmond's annoyance. More than anything, he wished they would just shut up and stop complaining so he could enjoy the wonderful view of the lake in peace. As he was thinking this, to his astonishment, they began to quiet down, some of them saying that the heat wasn't so bad after all. Sighing, he sat down, relaxed, and just stared at the lake, lost in thought.

While he was staring off into space, he had a vision - Mesprit, the legendary guardian of Lake Verity, appeared before him and told him he had an extraordinary power caused by a part of Mesprit's own soul living inside him. He barely paid attention, though, for he was too excited about seeing a legendary Pokémon. By the time he pointed it out to one of his classmates, however, it was gone.

Over the next few years, he discovered that not only could he manipulate the emotions of others, but he could also easily tell what they were thinking, and that he had a limited amount of psychokinetic abilities. Other people also discovered this power, leading them to think he was a freak, and stay away from him. He didn't particularly mind this, as he still wasn't a very sociable person. Although, when he wasn't taking care of Dynamo, he did get lonely occasionally, and he wished there was someone - just one other human - he could somehow relate to.

As if to answer his silent plea, a strange incident occurred on one seemingly normal day in Oreburgh. In the nearby Route 204, wild plants had suddenly experienced a growth spurt, overrunning the area and causing it to have to be closed down until further notice. Apparently, it was caused by a blast of energy that had come from a fifteen-year-old girl after she entered a severe coughing fit. No one was quite sure why it had happened, except Desmond. He knew it must have been another who, like him, shared the powers of a legendary Pokémon. He badly wanted to meet her and talk to her, but due to Route 204 being closed off, it would be hard to get to Floaroma where she apparently lived. Desmond, who was eighteen at the time, took this as an opportunity to finally leave his hometown with Dynamo (now a Machoke) and begin his Pokémon journey.

Over the course of the next year, Desmond traveled all over Sinnoh, defeating all eight Gym Leaders and raising a team of six powerful Pokémon. However, it wasn't until he returned to the port city of Sunyshore after losing to the Elite Four that he came across the girl from the Route 204 incident. He found that her name was Maya, and she had run away from her little hometown, not wanting to face the damage she had caused. Mesprit had recently informed him that there were other 'Chosen' like him in Hoenn's Lilycove City, and he was about to take a ship there. On a whim, he decided to bring her with him, and the two became close friends over the next few weeks. Who knows what will happen to them as they arrive in Lilycove...

Extra: I wonder if it's OVER NINE THOUSAAA-- *shot* Anyway, Desmond has all eight Sinnoh League badges.

Nickname: Dynamo
Gender: Male
Ability: No Guard - All moves used by Dynamo and his opponent hit.
Nature: Hardy. For this Machamp, work comes before play - whether 'work' is digging for coal in the Oreburgh mines or battling for the sake of his trainer. Dynamo is extremely dedicated to his 'work' and will not rest until it is finished. He's been Desmond's closest friend ever since they were little.
Moveset: Dynamicpunch / Thunderpunch / Ice Punch / Fire Punch

Pokemon: Weavile
Nickname: Robin
Gender: Female
Ability: Pickpocket - At the start of a battle, Robin steals the opponent's held item.
Nature: Impish. She loves causing trouble, especially for her opponents, and occasionally for Desmond and his other Pokémon as well. Desmond caught her near Snowpoint, where she had been previously causing trouble for some of the villagers.
Moveset: Taunt / Night Slash / Icy Wind / Revenge

Pokemon: Rapidash
Nickname: Blitz
Gender: Female
Ability: Flame Body - When a Pokémon makes contact with Blitz, there is a 30% chance that they will be burned.
Nature: Serious. She is probably the most level-headed of Desmond and his team, and often has to keep him and his Pokémon under control. She was the first Pokémon that Desmond caught in the wild.
Moveset: Flame Wheel / Hypnosis / Morning Sun / Flare Blitz

Pokemon: Togekiss
Nickname: Star
Gender: Male
Ability: Hustle - Star's physical attacks have 1.5x power and .8x accuracy.
Nature: Jolly. Star is overly optimistic, seeing the best in everyone, and constantly cheering his teammates on. He can also get quite hyperactive at times, and Mud is usually the one to rain on his parade. Desmond received him as an egg from some old couple, after he told them that he needed a flying Pokémon.
Moveset: Air Slash / Extremespeed / Wish / Baton Pass

Pokemon: Hippowdon
Nickname: Mud
Gender: Male
Ability: Sand Force - Mud's rock, ground, and steel moves deal 1.3x damage in a sandstorm.
Nature: Lonely. Mud is the opposite of Star; he's been a very pessimistic sort of Pokémon since he first joined Desmond's team. It's mostly because he misses his old desert home, as he often claims to be freezing cold. Desmond had to free him from a group of Poké-poachers.
Moveset: Earthquake / Yawn / Curse / Crunch

Pokemon: Leafeon
Nickname: Flora
Gender: Female
Ability: Leaf Guard - Flora is protected from major status ailments during strong sunlight.
Nature: Quiet. She doesn't really like to fight, despite being quite capable of doing so. She's also a little shy, and is one of Robin's favorite targets for practical jokes. After chasing her down for days, Desmond finally caught her as a rare and potentially powerful Eevee.
Moveset: Sunny Day / Razor Leaf / Grasswhistle / Last Resort

I'm storing the begging of my next post here because I need to ask a question before I finish. Pretty much, does anyone's legend have basic healing? Kind of make Midna's whole ordeal a little easier if someone does.


For me:Midna, despite not wanting to give into her brother's words, had no choice but to go with him as he directed her from the park. Nero, obviously not wanting to draw a great deal of attention to themselves, tried to remain off the streets but of course remain in the path of the hospital. He felt bad for forcing her to go to such a place but he had no choice after all. She needed healing and unless Azelf magically gave her healing powers, they weren't going to get it any time soon.

Appearance: Matthew doesn't care much for clothes. Black tank top, ripped up jeans. If he gets a pair of nice jeans, he'll grab a knife and rip some holes in them. he always wears a black hat covering his hair.

Speaking of hair, he's got long, blonde hair. He's fairly skinny, so all of his jeans are baggy. He wears a belt to keep them up, though. He wears the ever-so-colorful Osiris shoes.

Personality: Matt's stubborn. He doesn't like getting bossed around, and moves at his own pace. He often got in trouble at school for it. His friends respect him for that, however. Same goes for Genesect, Matt doesn't listen to him.

His rebellious ways are simple: just don't tell him what to do. He firmly believes in it, and will protect his virtues. He has made people both frighted and awestruck at the same time.

History: Matthew grew up as a pretty normal kid. Then he got into middle school. He saw how demanding the teachers were and how they expected so much of him because of his smart-alec sister. That's when he became a rebel, since he hated how much people bossed him around. He's been that way ever since.

Shortly after, he started getting weird texts about evil and corruption. He had no idea what they were, so he just shrugged them off. He kept on getting them all through high school. Finally, on his way to the college that surprisingly accepted him, he saw him. Genesect was blocking the road. He explained how he managed to get out of where he was being held to come and explain this all to him. He was also told of his powers.

Matt still had trouble understanding his powers. Genesect told him it had to do with his iPod and the song/artist he was listening to. He had noticed weird stuff every now and then in the past, like people going crazy in the head when he listened to Psychosocial, but he never noticed the coincidence. Every song and artist gives him something different, and he's still trying to discover as much as he can.

Powers: Rodrigo can pressurize his fist, making his punches more powerful. He can create land masses by shifting the earth, this also includes causing earthquakes, mudslides, and other natural disasters, but he can reverse these affects easily.
Side: JUSTICE (good)

Appearance: Rodrigo has dark brown hair that looks very vibrant and youthful, it seems to be rather average compared to most people actually, and it’s a bit messy though. His face is actually quite attractive if you can look past the roughness of it. His nose is pointed at the end and he has bright yellow eyes. He has a small scar on his chin.

It seems that Rodrigo has never heard of shirts because he doesn’t seem to wear them. But this might be to his advantage due to him being quite buff, he his thin and has numerous tattoos across his chest, back and torso. The tattoo on his back is a large crane. The one on his front are fire like patterns. He does however, wear a old tattered cape, it has a picture of a Groudons face on it.

He wears tattered, broken gloves that look like they have been caught aflame numerous times. His arms look rock hard along with his fists that are white at the tip of the fingers. Rodrigo has a African skin color for the most part, a bit darker than normal.

His pants are dark grey and worn out, they have rips and holes. He doesn’t seem to wear shows and the tips of his toes are also pretty white as well. Rodrigo is about 6’0

Personality: Rodrigo follows a very strict no kill policy with everyone. It is part of his strong moral guidelines which he follows. He believes that Death is the ultimate crime and no one should deserve it. He has a great understanding of Justice and evil. That being said, he isn’t that smart.

Rodrigo has gotten into a lot of incidents by accident as a result of him being extremely easy to manipulate and use. Rodrigo doesn’t know how to defend himself verbally at all as well, and can be brought to tears by other people’s words. He is also hot headed and can get ticked off over little things.

Most people find Rodrigo to be a bit annoying as well, his yelling and extreme behavior make him distant from most people, except his sister Sophia.

History: Rodrigo started life in the poorest of conditions, well not poorest but his family was in deep poverty. He was born in Spain, and his mother was from Cuba, his father was from South Africa. Rodrigo was probably the least intelligent out of his family and was often mocked by his older brother and sister. He shared a deep caring for his sister though, and protected her from his brothers torment.

Rodrigo was distraught and saddened by his brother’s death, even though he was mean to him; he still cared and loved him very much. Rodrigo went with his younger sister Sophia to live in Hoenn at the age of 22. It was there that some of his troubles began

Rodrigo worked for a old man by the name of Arden, Arden made Rodrigo work hard for his honest pay by doing a bunch of odd jobs, it wasn’t the best life, but it was good enough for him and he enjoyed it strangely enough. Arden taught Rodrigo simple philosophy, do onto others as they would to you, be kind to everyone, and stray away from the path of evil. One day however, when Rodrigo was 26, he began to have visions

The visions were of a powerful being, one that called itself Groudon; this would happen in the middle of the day and make Rodrigo completely blank out. The visions would tell him of mystical prophecies , and that he had been given godlike powers. Rodrigo was not skeptical at all and tried it out, and sure enough he began to learn of his powers of pressurization and used them to complete his work quicker.

One day, he got a vision while he was working in the front office where his Arden had been working at. When he had finished blanking out, he saw that the office was ruins. His boss had been murdered by a local gang. And things only got worse and worse

When Rodrigo arrived home after the funeral, his sister had left him a note, apparently, she had been harboring a secret that she had also been chosen by a being and had left to find more like her. Rodrigo cried that night for everything he had lost. He promised that he would follow the mottos he had learned to an extreme. Rodrigo decided that he would also look for his sister and tell her that he had been chosen as well.
