So, my egg was rejected because I--stupidly--didn't read well enough to find out how to count the number of colours in my egg. xD
So post your reasons and/or your egg submission! Please note, only post an egg submission IF IT WAS REJECTED. Fairly sure it shouldn't break the rules of the contest if your egg is definitely not up for voting. If this thread is still against the rules, feel free to lock it. -------------------- |

Don't feel too bad. I read the topic about five times to make sure I followed the rules of the event. So I made my egg, I saved it.. double checked the colors and all and then submitted it. Sadly enough, the only thing that I believe kept it from being accepted was the fact I accidentally saved it as a .jpg instead of .png. I had the egg I was working on still saved on a larger file in .png format, but the one I submitted was .jpg which completely and totally killed it and my chances of being entered.
I'd rather not post the egg though, since the only thing that really seemed to be the problem was the format. -------------------- |

It was bold and underlined, how could you miss it? Well, When I read the rules, I suppose it just didn't catch my eyes. As I'm looking at it now, I see the rules 1-9 and under the rules it has the warning not to break any of the rules above. Then below that is the paragraph explaining the color problem. I feel very stupid for not seeing it, I really thought I read everything. But it's clear I was mistaken. -------------------- |

How has any one used more than 64 colours in paint? On mine there isnt that many unless I keep changing the main colours I only used about 6 or 7 colours with the size of the eggs there was limited things that you could put on and still have tham show up.

I had used 9 colours at the begening but I made a mistake end it got pixelated and I got a 663 colours egg ! Of course I didn't
know it since I didn't used that many colours in the first place. When I submited it it got denied because of that... It's suppose to be my egg if I were a pokémon on this site... I thought it was funny... -------------------- |

I used photoshop, not paint. Using the shading tool...I ended up with too many colors.

I used photoshop, not paint. Using the shading tool...I ended up with too many colors. Ahh... it was supposed to be pixel-by-pixel, so that was technically not allowed anyway. -------------------- |

Not everyone has photo shop so its only fair it isn't allowed as eggs that was coloured using photo shop are likely to be better than those that was done in paint. Would like to see some that didn't get accepted to get an idea what designs people thought of.

Yeah, I can't even say I didn't read it, though I can see how it'd have been missed (while scanning over the rules). But mine had a whopping 660+ colors from creating it in photoshop. Even if it had met the color limit, it wasn't done pixel by pixel, so I'm not sure it would have qualified either way. xD
Also, koolchick, don't say that things done in paint are bound to be worse than things done in photoshop; if you put enough effort towards your design, you can do awesome things with Microsoft Paint. http://bored-bored.com/wp-content/uploads/...masterpiece.jpg Check that URL, that was done entirely in Paint. So people can do pretty awesome things in Paint, it just takes some effort. xP -------------------- |

I only used Ps for a few finishing touches, and even I used the pencil tool. -------------------- |

Ahh, I used photoshop
But I still did it, for the most part, pixel by pixel Did a stupid thing though And instead of recoloring the base pixel by pixel I used several layers of gradient on a low opacity to get the color I wanted, then forgot to merge them all. T_T And because all the layers were on different opacities, they counted as different colours Ohyes. I made a srs egg. -------------------- |

I think it's kinda dumb you can't re-submit if it's rejected... what's the point of having a contest without concise rules ((ie the egg being rejected)) if you can't re-enter?
ah well. mine's still pending. -------------------- |

There's been a flood of entries and members should be able to follow a simple enough rule or face the consequences -------------------- |
