Appearance
Shiori is very petite, and her small frame often leads people to speculate that she is younger than what she claims. Her straight, black hair falls just to her waist-line, and is parted to the far right. Her bangs sweep to the left before falling straight with the rest of her hair. Her dark hair contrasts greatly with her pale skin, which is a byproduct of living in a snow-covered city all her life. Her eyes are bright blue, which also stand out tremendously from her dark hair.
Shiori's outfit consists of a short tank-top, which cuts off just below her bust line. The base color is dark blue, which is accompanied by a large horizontal grey section which spans around the middle of the top. There is also a zipper down the front. As bottoms, Shiori wears a pair of tight, black shorts. There is a large dark blue belt which sets at the top of the shorts, and a smaller grey belt is looped within the larger blue one. There is also a dark blue cloth with a grey outline that hangs from the front of the belt, and is nearly as long as the shorts themselves.
Note: This is not the outfit she wore in Snowpoint City. She would have frozen to death. Once she arrived in Furoh, she bought this outfit in order to get out of her winter-like clothes.

Personality
Shiori is quite outgoing, and can easily fit in when it comes to social situations. She enjoys making small talk with almost anyone, and can easily gain the trust of most people. However, Shiori sometimes comes off as being overly-confident in herself and her abilities, which sometimes puts people off to her.
Shiori is usually a very relaxed, calm person, and she hardly ever becomes flustered or upset. She enjoys taking life as it comes and trying to keep out of stress as much as possible.
Shiori is also a very avid daydreamer. She often gets lost in her thoughts, and is not able to concentrate on one certain thing for very long. Due to this, she isn't a very good listener. Her daydreaming also tends to occasionally distract her in battles, and the habit has cost her a fair number of wins.

Biography
Shiori was born December 17 in Snowpoint City, Sinnoh. She was born into an average family that, like most families, loved pokemon and lived harmoniously with them. Shiori's grandfather had been a well-known trainer during his younger years, and, once Shiori was old enough, he began to teach her the knowledge he had acquired about pokemon.
Shiori, age ten at the time, became immediately fascinated with pokemon and was eager to learn all she could from her grandfather. Over the next few years, Shiori grew extremely close to her grandfather. The two became inseparable, and were almost always out in the mountains, studying the various pokemon that inhabited them.
When Shiori turned thirteen, her grandfather awarded her with her first pokemon, a Swinub. Shiori fell in love with it and quickly began her training, hoping to one day become as great a trainer as her grandfather. Shiori continued to live at home in Snowpoint and train in the mountains with the help of her grandfather for the next four years.
One day, a week after her seventeenth birthday, Shiori made her way to her grandfather's house, ready to go into the mountains. When she arrived, she found her grandmother in tears, sitting beside her grandfathers motionless body on their bed. Shiori was deeply hurt by her grandfather's death. She lost all motivation to train after he died, and didn't leave her home for the next month. She stayed locked in her room with her Swinub, mourning her grandfather's death.
One night, as Shiori slept, she had a dream about her grandfather, like she seemed to every night. However, this dream was different than most. In this dream, she remembered a night when she and her grandfather had stayed in the mountains unusually late. The two had taken the time to enjoy the night and gaze at the stars for a long while. She remembered a story that her grandfather had told her about a legendary pokemon that would grant any wish that was asked of it. She remembered him telling her that the pokemon will only awaken during the week of the thousand-year comet and that someone must be present to be the pokemon's friend, otherwise it will continue to sleep for another thousand years.
When Shiori awoke the next morning, she knew exactly what she had to do. She had to find the legendary wish pokemon and ask it to bring her grandfather back to her. She knew that her parents would never approve of her leaving, so she decided to wait until the next morning to leave before they had awoken. The next morning, Shiori awoke during the dead of night. The sky was painted with a multitude of stars, just like the night from her dream, which gave her even more motivation to leave. She left a note for her parents to find, saying that she would write to them as soon as she made it to wherever she was going. With that, she left to begin her pokemon journey.
Shiori traveled aimlessly for the next week through the mountains. For a time, she was unsure if she would ever make it out of the mountains. However, she finally made it through the never-ending snow. Now she faced another problem. She had no earthly idea as to where she was. Shiori, until now, had never left the mountains of Snowpoint. She continued to wander about for the next few weeks before she made her way into a wonderful city, filled with a types of people and pokemon, Hearthome City. She decided to stay at the pokemon center in Hearthome City for a few days in order to allow her Swinub, and the Squirtle she had caught during her journey, to rest, and to give her time to think of what exactly she needed to do next.
While at the center, Shiori overheard a group of trainers speaking about a place which they referred to as Furoh. Shiori, eager to learn more about this place, asked one of the trainers about it. She learned that it was a completely different country, just like the other countries of Kanto, Johto and Hoenn that she had heard of from her grandfather. She found it odd that her grandfather had never told her about the Furoh region, and wondered why he had never mentioned it. Shiori, being filled with curiosity, knew immediately that Furoh was where she wanted to begin her journey. It was a place completely unknown to her, which intrigued her to no end, and she desired to discover what it was like.
The next day, Shiori left Hearthome City and began her journey to the mysterious region of Furoh.
