Therefore, it is to be expected that our existence is known in said future. Put simply, time did not fast-forward, it was us who "skipped" several years in the process. Thus, though we went missing in the past, people did not simply "forget" our existence. And since the time machine required a date input, they would not merely know who and what disappeared, but also exactly (or rather approximately, given there seems to have been a small problem in the process) when to expect us. Naturally, the location coordinates should also have given them an exact place, but given how we scattered the approximation principle applies. All that said, it does not explain this mysterious transformation, nor does it explain exactly where the process went wrong. This is all speculation on my part but I believe the transformation is not a direct consequence of the mishap that caused the temporal and spatial inconsistencies, but rather a result of something that trespassed during the time interval between our departure from the past and our arrival here.
