Appearance: Luke has curly, brownish blonde hair that stops before it reaches his bright blue eyes in the front and nearly goes down to his semi-broad shoulders in back. His hair alone adds a good inch or so to his height of 5 feet 10 inches. Under his hair he wears a dark green headband, representing his favorite color and favorite pokemon type. His mouth is usually either forming a smile or, at the very least, a grin and he rarely frowns. Weighing in at 147 pounds, Luke isn’t all too muscular and definitely isn’t very chubby, but his shoulders and frame is kind of broad for his lightweight and height. His feet, as well, could be called broad.

Luke prefers to wear blue jeans and various t-shirts that are usually either green or black or orange/yellow in color. He rarely gets cold, but he will occasionally wear a green jacket with brown seams. On his wrist he always wears a watch and, from time to time, he will put on Aviator sunglasses as he travels. Around his waist he keeps his light-brown pouch.

Personality: Luke generally just lets life come at him and tends to avoid going against the flow. Because of this, he is very accepting of many things and very rarely is angered. The few things that anger him include maltreatment of pokemon, destruction of a pokemon’s natural habitat, and bullying of other humans. Most of the time, he is actually fairly happy since he keeps his pokemon with him at all times and does not wish to catch anymore than he can carry.

Around other people Luke is also generally pretty laid back and tends not to speak unless spoken to and rarely offends others on purpose. He only gets violent or combative when he sees that those around him have no respect for other humans or for pokemon. Life is a very important and beautiful thing to him, as is the natural world, and he strongly dislikes those who do not see its beauty and inherent worth. He isn’t exactly shy though, he just doesn’t require all that much attention or social interaction to be happy and will only speak as much as he deems necessary.

When fighting with his pokemon he is, in contrast to his usual quiet nature, very vocal. While he sees little reason to raise his voice or speak around other humans, he thinks that doing so is very necessary when fighting alongside his beloved pokemon. In the end, it is all about necessity.


Biography: Born to a widowed gardener in Goldenrod, Luke grew up around the outdoors even though he lived in the city. Then, since it was just him and his mother (his father had died during the pregnancy due to heart failure), he grew up used to not having all too many people to talk to and was never really a talkative kid. He learned the most from the plants he cared for and, just as they went with the flow of nature, he learned to go along with the flow of life.

By the time he was old enough to receive his first pokemon, he had long since decided on Chikorita. For the first year or so of his pokemon ownership, he still remained home though, spending most of his time caring for and gardening with Chikorita (whom he opted not to nickname), only battling with him when other local trainers would challenge him. Most of the time, he would lose, but both he and Chikorita did not mind. They were happy enough to even have the chance to battle in-between journeys in the northern woods and gardening sessions.

As he grew older, he still had not caught another pokemon and he still had not wandered far from Goldenrod or his mother. This was more by choice than anything else, although he did receive another pokemon from his Aunt Kelly, a pokemon breeder from Kanto: a freshly breeded Squirtle by the name of Ace. In past years he had communicated with her through the mail and expressed his love of gardening so she thought a Squirtle would only aid him.

Finally, at the age of fifteen, he was ready to leave his hometown behind and decided to move to Fidona in Furoh to begin his journey with both Chikorita and Ace by his side.
