So, yeah. What the title says. I've customized almost every character, and have found myself tending towards Attack/Speed combos. My combos are as follows:
Defensive: 2 Bruiser: 8 Speedy: 3 Attack/Defense: 9 Attack/Speed: 23 Defense/Speed: 5 So how do you prefer to play? Tank damage? Hit hard? Outspeed the enemy? Or somewhere in between? -------------------- I'm also known as Queen_Lugia on SPPf, and Queen-Articuno on dA, as well as a former aspiring trinketer on GPX+, a proud TheRunawayGuys fangirl, a proud participant of Extra Life, and proud supporter of TwitchPlaysPokemon.

'Sup Mars.
Personally I prefer balanced - raising all my stats equally - but that's hard to do with the eqipment I've got, since rarely can find three that balance each other. Going really, really fast is fun too, though. -------------------- |

Yeah, outspeeding enemies is a blast. There are some characters that move a bit too fast if you focus on speed, though. Pikachu comes to mind. I had a Pika with a walking speed boost Brawn Badge and another Speed booster and it was too fast for me to even control.
Though it's also a good idea to try and mitigate weaknesses, I've also found. Like giving heavyweights speed boosts and weak hitters attack boosts.

I'm probably gonna sound boring, but I really don't like tampering with the stats. :/
While I definitely see the appeal, it just seems kinda dumb to me, to be honest. I didn't even know there'd be equipment and it's really not a feature that speaks to me. I don't know why, but it really feels out of place to me. Unnatural, even. I don't really play with the custom moves either (at least for now) because I don't really want to play with them until I have them all, if that makes sense. And even then, I'm not sure I'll really use them. I think it may be because I've already spent lots of time in the series learning the characters as they are, so learning them again/changing my playstyle with them due to different stats and such just isn't very appealing to me. Then again, even when it's just cosmetic changes (besides alt colors; think Tekken's customisation options) I'm not interested. I just feel like things like that and what's in SSB4 feels off to me and defeats the purpose of learning the characters as they are, but that's probably the Glory side of me speaking. It really just feels out of place to me, like I said. I see nothing wrong with these features and definitely think they have a (very welcome) place in the game, though. I think I kinda just wish it was all like Palutena: giving the characters completely different moves instead of variations. -------------------- |

Yeah, I can understand not wanting to tamper with something you've worked hard on learning. I guess I love it because I'm a sucker for customizing stuff and collecting loot thanks to playing a lot of Pokémon games and other JRPGs. The customization feature probably wouldn't appeal to everyone, and that's fine.

I'm actually a huge sucker for customisation myself, it just feels off in this case.

Mostly I prefer Spd/Attack. I do have a bit of a cheeky strategy with Shulk, though. So, if you didn't know, Shulk has Monado Shield, which lowers how fast your shield goes down and how fast it regenerates. Combine that with healing shield, and you can just shield while the opponent attacks you and heals you damage. Sometimes I just go for full-on power though. I have given a Captain Falcon custom my most powerful Attack boosting items, and his Attack is 200. A single Falcon Pawnch does 50% damage while a reverse-Falcon Pawnch does 56%. His down smash attack does 91% combined both kicks. It's completely overpowered, and I love it.
