What crazy things did the AI do to try and make you lose when you were in the Battle Maison?

I once faced an Ambipom with Pickup in Doubles. It used Fling to throw its King's Rock at my Vaporeon, fair enough. Picked up a Sitrus Berry, fine. Was at about 75% health when I brought out my Heliolisk. It used Thief to steal Heliolisk's Damp Rock...WTF?!? You didn't even use your goddamn Sitrus Berry yet! Wait your turn! *smack*

It's a pain to get BP sad.gif I know the maison pokémon are EV trained, but it's obvious that they pull the cheapest stuff to beat you (the battle subway in gen V too)
  • Their accuracy and evasion are way too good (have you seen that battle subway video where their blizzard hit 6 times in a row and managed to freeze 4?) and how often items like quick claw activate... not to mention how conveniently status conditions work for them. I'm down to my Gardevoir, it's paralyzed but I can beat your Purugly in one hit, but of course I get the parahax 4 turns in a row and you kill me and end my streak.
  • And I can't help but to think that their pokémon are altered to have an advantage over your team, like how I always have my Drapion first to set toxic spikes and after a few battles they always start bringing out pokémon that fly/levitate or can't be poisoned
  • Also, this might just be me, but you know how when you select an attack with the d-pad, the next turn it stays highlighted so all you have to do is press A to attack again? I could swear sometimes it resets randomly to the first move... I've lost battles because I thought the move I previously used was highlighted and mashed A, but guess what?

I've experienced those, too. So annoying! Especially when moves crit several times in a row.

Whenever I would run Toxic stall, all opponents became Poison and Steel type after two matches. XD

The worst thing, though, is how all of these unevolved pokemon withstand hits when they aren't holding a defensive item, or deal OHKOs and 2HKOs to my fully evolved defensive mons. An Oddish withstood a Flamethrower from my Hydreigon, Fletchinder and Frogadier running roughshod all over my Dragonite and Conkeldurr, it's baffling.

I almost lost to the Maison lady for single battles because somehow her Grumpig was faster than my Garchomp and used Psychic and one-shot it. Thankfully I had Greninja left and she was on her last Pokemon, but how does a Grumpig beat a fully EV trained Mega Garchomp in one shot??

Besides from the status HAX. There was this one time where they did a Simple Swoobat with Simple Calm Mind and Charge Beam.
