Best Memories

I found a Smosh video and loved it. I eventually went on and on with Pokemon videos until I loved Pokemon.

Okay then.
I am a huge fan of Dragonite and would love a shiny one named Puff. This describes me perfectly.

The Army

The year in which I was in the 7th grade Pokemon was the in thing. I would constantly see students at lunch time with their binders of pokemon cards and my best friend whose mother at the time ran a daycare would tell me about episodes they'd watched. I thought it was the stupidest thing in creation and this and nothing more was all I knew of it. We'd both have quite a bit of fun slamming it.

Then one afternoon after school with all homework finished I was flipping through my Comcast menu and spotted it. Wanting to see just how stupid it was I turned it on. The episode where Ash was seeking Haunter for battling Sabrina, I recall clearly. Big backfire as I became addicted.

Not long after the same best friend would tell me about her Pokemon Yellow game for the gameboy. "I caught a zubat", "I named my pidgey Gusty" and other such comments. I had only ever once played a gameboy and it was in the 5th grade when my previous best friend let me try a level of his Mario game...actually make that twice before. When I was 7 my cousin showed me The Lion King on his gameboy.
Anyway, finally she actually showed me the Pokemon Yellow game and that was it. I had to have it. When my mother picked me up from her house that day I begged her for it and she caved.

I was addicted for some time, it wasn't until slightly through Hoenn that I stopped watching the anime. it sucked, May was ugly and annoying and the repeat of Ash destroying the bike...come on! Though Ash getting Turtwig in Sinnoh the exact same way he got Bulbasaur was worse...yeah alright so I checked out a few episodes of Sinnoh on Youtube. Wasn't overly impressed but Dawn was better than May.

So yeah, that's my story.

Kawaii!

One guy from my school was playing it (I believe it was Pokémon Blue) on his Pokémon Color and I got instantly really interested in it! <3
The idea of having a virtual pet that we could train and battle and evolve fascinated me! <3

Then, I began watching it on TV!!!!
and PIKACHUUU!!!!
AND ASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND IT
WAS
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I asked my father if he could buy me it too, and one day we went to a fair and there it was, Pokémon Gold!
I asked my father to buy it to me, and he did!
I played it on my Gameboy the way home, and my first pick was Cyndaquil, later on I started it again and I chose Chikorita <3
I also tried out Totodile, but I found it ugly on its next evolutions... cat.gif

So, hum, yeah <33333

QUOTE(Bonnie Clyde @ Oct 10 2013, 12:41 PM) *
The title is pretty self explanatory... I got into Pokemon after I got the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness game (I was like 8 or something when I got it). I thought the title sounded cool, so I wanted to try it out. And after I played it for awhile, I really liked it. I really liked the story line and stuff (I got into it so much that I actually cried at the scene when the Pokemon are heading home after the main story plot ended). And I've been into Pokemon since then.

So, how did it happen with you?

I started off with the cards. My first one was a Pikachu Wizards Promo
Unfortunately, I lost the original but I got another one. My first game was FireRed.

I got one of the games for my birthday, and it just sorta spiraled on from there. I lost interest briefly while I was in high school, but I ended up coming back once I entered college. ;3

I actually despised Pokemon. I was so sick and tired of hearing people of all ages talk about it because it was really nothing more than a fad (which I've never been a fan of).
I actually ripped up my friend's card in his face because he kept shoving it into mine.
Every turn I made, it was POKEMON POKEMON POKEMON. Finally I broke down in 2000 and asked my mom if she could buy me one pack.

In my first pack ever, I pulled a holographic Charizard.

Instantly I became the most popular kid in my grade. I have been collecting cards ever since. Not the best way of getting into Pokemon but that's how it happened.
Back in 2005, I joined Pkmncollectors and began collecting other merchandise, spending about $10,000+ since on cards and things for my collection.

Adroableness

I go into Pokemon in third grade. My friend was obsessed with Pokemon and had a bunch or cards. He had me play with him since no one else would. I thought that the game was pretty cool. And then my birthday came up and I got a game boy and Pokemon Sapphire. I starting playing that and got really addicted to playing it and then I started watching the anime and my life revolved around Pokemon and it still kinda is. I know every single Pokemon and lots of random Pokemon facts.

My grandfather ran a small novelty/gag business and one of his bigger clients was from Japan. Said client happened to come to the US around the time that Pokemon was starting to get big in Japan, and he brought a little Pikachu toy for me. I had no idea what it was since nobody here had heard of a Pikachu, but I loved it and have loved Pokemon since.

Everyone in my class in third grade was into it so I just had to follow suit so I wouldn't feel left out. Got hooked instantly! Still a fan now over 15 years later. Started with the anime and then quickly tried out the games.. I remember loaning my games to classmates so they could get through certain parts for me. Memories.

Mine actually started here, on GPX+
I've always been vaguely interested in Pokemon, but never knew where to start. I enjoy GPX and the collecting style of the is, as well as browser based sims. It's a no brainer for me now. Maybe eventually I'll get myself some of the handheld games, if I'm brave enough to face that kind of addiction. Lol
