Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ News and Updates _ Minor Updates

Posted by: Bidofo Dec 6 2009, 11:46 PM

Things that don't really need their own thread will be posted here.

--------------

Users will now be notified in the header when they have an egg that's ready to hatch.

Posted by: Bidofo Dec 8 2009, 01:26 AM

On the party page, you can now view users who have added you to their Pal Pad. Due to an update in how Pal Pads are stored, however, your Pal Pad will only be displayed alphabetically, and you cannot reorder it.

Update: Pal Pad will be sortable once again in a day or so. -Zerxer

Posted by: Zerxer Dec 11 2009, 10:18 PM

Pal Pad sorting has returned.

Posted by: Bidofo Dec 20 2009, 08:36 PM

Added a few settings to the settings page.

Posted by: Bidofo Dec 21 2009, 12:25 PM

Starting now, the Little Man and Manaphy Eggs will only disappear if you go to the PC, Daycare, Abandon or Walker pages (anything that would allow you to remove Pokemon from your party, essentially), and chests, however, won't disappear at all until you click them.

Note that, however, you can only have one of the three active at any given time, so if for whatever reason get one of the three, you don't claim it, and then subsequently get a second one, it'll overwrite the previous one.

Posted by: Bidofo Dec 31 2009, 02:39 AM

I've added a few new stats to the user page, and will add them to the stats page later on probably as well.

These are in preparation for a much larger update that should be coming on the weekend, though I won't say anything more about that just yet.

Posted by: Large Bidoof Collider Jan 7 2010, 05:42 PM

I've added a new page to the Pokedex so you can more easily see what data you're missing: http://gpxplus.net/dex/list

Posted by: Zerxer Jan 9 2010, 07:56 PM

Previous owner information is now stored in its own table so we can log times and such. A Pokémon's timeline now shows who abandoned it and when (though, all past dates were not recorded). If it was something someone donated from their Daycare, it will say Donated.

Also, 'Bred by' area now shows 'Current owner' if it's a bred Pokémon that was not donated.

Posted by: Large Bidoof Collider Jan 10 2010, 07:28 PM

A pokemon's timeline is now displayed as an actual timeline.

Posted by: Large Bidoof Collider Jan 18 2010, 09:54 AM

I added 8 new stats to the stats page.

Posted by: Large Bidoof Collider Jan 19 2010, 05:45 PM

The lab eggs taken stat has been updated to include lab eggs taken before its implementation (but only ones that are still in your possession).

Posted by: Big Bidoof Feb 15 2010, 02:50 PM

I've added two new stats to the stat page: http://gpxplus.net/stats#pokemon

Most Common Shiny and Most Owned Species

Posted by: Big Bidoof Feb 16 2010, 02:16 PM

I've added a few more search options to the new dex.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Feb 19 2010, 12:00 AM

Added a few new sorting options to the Pokedex; fixed the "view dex info" link (for Pokemon, but not eggs).

Posted by: Zerxer Feb 21 2010, 01:46 PM

Added a new filter to the PC page: 'Can be abandoned'

Removed the popup from the page finally. Hopefully most people know by now.

EDIT: Added a not-as-annoying info bar to the bottom of the page instead.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Feb 21 2010, 08:57 PM

Corruption Orbs are sellable.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Feb 25 2010, 01:31 PM

I've added a number of new stats, as you can see in the stats portion of user profiles and the Poketch, and also made the tab a lot nicer-looking in general.

Also, not that this is something you'd noticed, but I've moved all the stats to a separate database table so that the main user data one wouldn't be so cluttered, so if you find that something isn't updating when it should be, let me know, since because of this I've had to update everything ever that affects stats, so it's possible that I missed something or whatever.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Feb 26 2010, 01:02 AM

I've updated the stats page a bunch.

And for those that haven't yet noticed, you're ranked in every stat on a site-wide bases on the stats tab in the Poketch.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Mar 1 2010, 09:44 AM

I've done a bit of an update to how images are handled around the site, so if any page isn't displaying them properly, be sure to let me know.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Mar 1 2010, 08:00 PM

The Pokedex now displays a Pokemon's ranking in terms of how many users have it, how many there are, how many eggs there are, and how many shinies there are.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Mar 2 2010, 11:55 PM

A note to Opera users: Opera 10.50, which released yesterday, now supports the CSS3 border-radius property (translation: rounded corners), so I've updated everything to use the syntax used by Opera, though some files may be cached on your computer, so you may need to force reload (ctrl+F5) the site to flush the older files from your system. So, to view the site in all its sexiness, it's best that you update to this version.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Mar 3 2010, 12:23 AM

I've also added a section to the stats page listing off every Pokemon and how many of it there are: http://gpxplus.net/stats#pokecount

Posted by: Big Bidoof Mar 6 2010, 03:47 AM

The price on Shelter Passes has been cut, and you can now buy multiple of them, which will add four for each one you get.

Posted by: Zerxer Mar 17 2010, 06:43 PM

I've added two new PC filters: Colour (the colour of that Pokémon as stated in the Pokédex - useful for some of the achievements) and Obtained From (to find Pokémon that you got from the lab, shelter, daycare, etc).

Posted by: Big Bidoof Mar 22 2010, 08:03 PM

Just a minor change to achievements - the ones for interactions in a day will now check both your present day's total, as well as your overall record (meaning, if you don't get to check for achievements before reset, you can still unlock the achievement).

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 8 2010, 01:14 AM

Added a few options to the party page for affecting your party as a whole - mass nicknaming, describing, releasing, hatching, boxing and undressing.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 10 2010, 04:03 PM

Two minor updates: the Shelter is split now between hatched Pokemon and eggs, and also, the shop will tell you the value of your current inventory.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 11 2010, 12:41 PM

Added some Pokedex completion stats to the Pokedex page - http://gpxplus.net/dex#stats

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 11 2010, 05:44 PM

Certain tabbed pages, namely the stats and help pages, as well as the shop, will now set cookies to remember which tab you last used, so that the tab you were last using will be displayed when you next visit that page.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 13 2010, 09:57 AM

Added a bunch of sorting options to the online list.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 16 2010, 11:20 PM

A minor update to PC releasing: you can now click on a box's title to toggle the entire box.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 29 2010, 02:49 PM

Added a search box to the http://gpxplus.net/help page.

Posted by: Big Bidoof May 18 2010, 01:42 AM

Minor updates to the Shelter: no new features were added or anything, though it performs roughly twice as well, and will be more accurate in choosing which Pokemon to display.

Also, starting now, excess of any species will also be pruned from the Shelter on a regular basis.

Posted by: Big Bidoof May 24 2010, 03:42 PM

I've updated many of dialogues used for managing your Pokemon (the popups used for renaming, hatching, etc.) so that they're generated client-side using Javascript, as opposed to requiring AJAX calls to the server. What this means is they'll generate faster, especially if you have a slow connection, and consequently it means less traffic to the server, so less load on the server as well.

The ones for managing all of your party at once aren't done yet, however, but they're next on the list.

Posted by: Big Bidoof May 26 2010, 12:48 AM

I've updated how images are handled, and consequently that means shorter URLs for everything other than dress-ups.

For example, http://i.gpxpl.us/82/27/CgaBq/s.png becomes simply http://i.gpxpl.us/CgaBq/s.png

The old ones will still work as well, so you won't need to update anything.

Posted by: Big Bidoof May 26 2010, 03:19 PM

Until further notice, the Daycare won't be awarding EXP, I'll be awarding these EXP gains in a different manner in the future.

The reason for this is that removing it drops the Daycare task's execution time from ~6 minutes to ~6-10 seconds.

Posted by: Big Bidoof May 31 2010, 12:28 AM

I made a number of additions throughout the day:

- The small Pokemon icons used in the PC and such can be used for EXP as well as the other options
- There is now a counter in the top-right of the layout telling you how many Pokemon you have in your party
- There is now an image you may use of your full party, however, it will provide less EXP than the individual Pokemon images

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jun 2 2010, 01:08 AM

Added a few things to the Poketch:

- Tab names are replaced by icons. This is to fit a tab for the Shine Recorder, as well as future additions (there are already at least two more being worked on)
- Pokemon can now be deselected from being affected by the party options drop-down
- Party options have now been updated to function like the Pokemon options were last week

And also, coloured egg icons have replaced the generic egg icon used around the site.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jun 9 2010, 10:13 PM

I added a button to the http://gpxplus.net/poketch#children for toggling pairs that have shiny offspring.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jun 14 2010, 12:48 AM

A minor update to achievements: in compatible web browsers (Chrome, Safari 3+ and Firefox 3.6+), the Achievements tab will display progress bars behind the progress for each achievement.

Like so:

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jun 26 2010, 12:40 AM

Until further notice, none of the normal Legendary/Novelty restrictions will apply to Slime Slugma eggs.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jul 1 2010, 11:11 AM

Achievements tab can now be sorted by requirements or chronological order.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jul 8 2010, 01:06 AM

A few new miscellaneous items have been added.

Note that they won't be buyable in the shop - they can only be found randomly around the site.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jul 19 2010, 05:48 PM

The help page has been updated courtesy of Mommy Dearest.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jul 26 2010, 11:37 PM

Starting now, the number of shelter grabs that a Shelter Pass provides will be affected by how many Pokemon you interact with. Proper berry interactions will also affect this, to a much greater degree than improper berry interactions, yup yup.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Aug 17 2010, 06:26 PM

I've added a new stat, the activity score, which uses a point system to gauge how active you have been on the site today.

It's actually not terribly new since though, I first added it nearly a month ago, and really I just started displaying it now, however, yup yup.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Aug 26 2010, 03:23 PM

I've recoded how EXP increases via views is processed, so that should improve performance significantly. I need to work out a few kinks in it however, so if your views doesn't quite increase properly, then that's why, yup yup.

EDIT: Also, be sure to read this update to signature rules: http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=42914

Posted by: Big Bidoof Aug 30 2010, 05:35 PM

I'm going to be updating a few things with the little icons used in the online list, the PC, and so on. If anything appears weird between now and the next update I post, no need to panic, yup yup.

UPDATE: This update is (or should be, at least) no longer relevant. Be sure to notify me if there are any errors.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Sep 1 2010, 03:16 AM

Guests online at any given time are now counted as well, yup yup.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Sep 1 2010, 04:17 AM

There's a new setting that allows you to choose for the random user page to display more than one user at a time... and displaying more than one will also include offline users as well, yup yup.

Posted by: Zerxer Sep 10 2010, 09:00 PM

I've updated the top display of your Pokétch page. Reason being is that the bar there was way too cluttered and needed some cleaning up. Also, I've removed the Refresh Party option from the Party Options drop-down. Instead, you have a little refresh icon to the right of the drop-down that you can click to refresh your Party. More efficient, in my opinion.

EDIT: I've applied the same changes to the user pages but also made # of points visible from the bar as well as the user's gender (if set).

Posted by: Zerxer Sep 23 2010, 04:48 PM

I've modified the Journal's BBCode parser to allow for shorthand versions of most of the available tags.

This might not seem like much, but for some people, it should give them extra characters remaining so they can put more content in their entry.

The formatting toolbar has been updated to insert these shorter versions. Also, I've added an "Optimize BBCode" button which will replace all long tags with their shorthand equivalents.

Note that the old tags will still be supported 100%, for those who are used to the BBCode already and type it by hand.

EDIT: Also, I'll mention that you can use ♥ to put a heart in your entry now too.

Posted by: Zerxer Sep 26 2010, 01:11 PM

Almost all of the sprites on the site have been replaced with sprites from HGSS and B/W. Note that if your Pokémon is dressed up, the dressup image will still be using the old image (until you undress it or redress it).

Posted by: Big Bidoof Sep 30 2010, 01:33 AM

For Shiny Races requiring fewest eggs hatched: for users who hatch a shiny and end up waiting on their opponent, who ends up abandoning the race, it'll now end (in the user having hatched the shiny's favour) automagically a week after the last egg was hatched. Note that since it's impossible to accurately retroactively determine when the last egg was hatched, races prior to this update will end a week after this update was posted, yup yup.

Posted by: Zerxer Oct 4 2010, 12:13 AM

I've added three new search options to the PC page:

  1. Happiness - works the same way as the Level filter, basically
  2. Sprite Type - allows you to search for Pokémon using a sprite from a certain generation or ones that are using a specific sprite
  3. Type - works the same way as the Egg Group filter, basically (useful for Vs. Seeker)

EDIT: Also, the tooltip that appears when you hover over a Pokémon in the PC now displays happiness/type/sprite.

Posted by: Zerxer Nov 2 2010, 08:51 PM

I have added a "View more information" link on the right side of the list of Explorations, under each of their small stats section, as well as a 'view info' link next to the 'quit exploration' link for the current Exploration you're embarked on.

Clicking these will show you a dialog full of other information about that Exploration, including the number of people currently embarked on each task as well as credits for the Exploration at the very bottom.

Posted by: Zerxer Nov 3 2010, 01:15 AM

I have also just made it so that you can view past Explorations underneath the normal and special ones, but only ones that you've completed at least once.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Nov 7 2010, 01:19 PM

I've changed a number of evolutions and form changes to now be weather-based... I'm not going to list the ones here that were changed, but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure that out for yourself, yup yup.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Nov 26 2010, 11:48 PM

A minor update regarding dress-ups - first of all, I've fixed an issue from a long time ago that will have prevented you from gaining views if you used the dressed-up image, and also, they now have new, shiny, shorter URLs, so it would be best if updated your signatures with the newer codes, yup yup!

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Dec 1 2010, 05:26 PM

There is now a new Exploration titled "Mystery Creature of the Ruins" that you may embark on (assuming you meet the requirements). This is a Normal Exploration, so you have unlimited time to complete it as it will be here forever. The reward for this Exploration is one Unown egg that you do not currently have (it goes by egg dex). If you already have all of the Unown, it will give you a random one instead.

Posted by: Zerxer Dec 9 2010, 01:17 AM

I've updated the PC page so that you can select multiple Pokémon (from within the same box) when moving from box to box. Just click on one in a box, then click on more within the same box, then click on another box to move them to.

Posted by: Zerxer Dec 26 2010, 01:57 AM

As you might notice (if you're not currently embarked on an Exploration), the Deoxys one is active again as a Normal Exploration. Whenever the weather is Aurora, it will be embarkable. And since it's set as a Normal one, it won't count against your monthly special limit. Once the Aurora day is over, it will no longer be embarkable, but you'll have no time limit to complete it. Also, as stated in the Dex (if you already have one), Deoxys can form change on Aurora days.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jan 3 2011, 03:14 AM

For those of you in need of boxes above and beyond the basic 15 you can purchase, a separate upgrade, "Extra PC Box Plus" has been added, yup yup.

Posted by: Zerxer Jan 6 2011, 07:13 PM

Friend Recorder has been tweaked so that entries can be added to it from a user but locked to an entirely different user (don't worry about this, just has to do with server-side stuff with what kind of entries we can create for people).

The first use for this is that now when someone adds you to their Pal Pad, it will say that they did in your Friend Recorder. Other things might be added but not sure yet.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jan 8 2011, 07:37 PM

Because of the various performance improvements I've made to the site over the past few days pertaining namely to how interactions and the Interactions tab are managed, we've been able to improve exp calculation time to once every other minute, as opposed to once every five minutes, yup yup.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jan 16 2011, 02:54 PM

I've added a new section to the Stats page for past contests and events, yup yup: http://gpxplus.net/stats#events

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jan 30 2011, 02:48 PM

I've added in two new Misc. Items. While I won't spoil their uses, they're now available, and you're bound to encounter them through some means sooner or later, yup yup. hmm.gif

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Jan 31 2011, 03:30 AM

A new normal Exploration has been released, and is here to stay. Upon completing it, you are able to choose from either the White Token or the Black Token. These items will raise Dream World grabs and once the DW is gone sometime shortly after NA release of BW (March 6th), they will be given a different function sometime afterwards.

You can only complete this Exploration once, and the choice you are making is purely an aesthetic one.

Posted by: Zerxer Feb 1 2011, 01:26 AM

I've made some slight updates to the Pokétch.

First: the check/uncheck hotkeys have been renamed to select/deselect. To use them now (since we no longer have the checkbox system), choose the party option you want and then use the hotkey to select all of them (equivalent to clicking on all of the selectable ones). Note that this doesn't work with certain ones such as moving and changing, since those require you to use the individual options drop-downs.

Second: animations for hatching/evolving/form changing. You'll no longer see the animations in a popup dialog, and you finally have animations back again when doing the action on more than one. The animations now play right inside of your party, where the Pokémon's image is already displayed. I've also added a "Skip Animations" button that appears below the party options drop-down in case you don't feel like waiting on them.

Last: the second update will also be copied over to individual Pokémon info pages (meaning the animations will play right where the image is currently displayed).

In the future I may also make some other tweaks to the Pokétch in regards to hotkeys, because of the new submit/cancel/all buttons and the tedious process of moving all your Pokémon to the PC when there's one or two that you still want to stay in your party (which is what was great about the old checkbox system).

Posted by: Zerxer Feb 9 2011, 01:28 AM

The notifications bar is now more useful. Whenever an action is made that doesn't cause your browser to completely reload the page (this is called an AJAX request; such as refreshing your party or applying an option to a Pokémon or even selecting a new tab in your Pokétch), the notifications bar will update.

This means if you're on your Pokétch and you have eggs ready to hatch, and you hatch them, the bar will update and no longer display the notification for eggs ready to hatch. It may also show you right away that you have daycare eggs. If you then release those or claim one, that daycare notification will disappear.

This compared to before where notifications only ever updated when you reloaded the page completely or opened a new tab.

Note that this includes almost every AJAX request made on the site. Adding a friend, removing a friend, everything done on your Pokétch, or even just being on the battles page will insure the notifications you're seeing are the latest ones.

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Mar 4 2011, 11:09 PM

A new Normal Exploration has been released. It is titled Beachside Treasure. This is meant to be a little tutorial of sorts on Explorations and some functions of the site, which is why it is free to be embarked on by anybody. You can only complete it once, and the reward for its completion is a Big Pearl. This Exploration is here to stay, so don't worry about it going away.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Mar 22 2011, 12:38 AM

I've added in two new NPC trainers - a rather challenging one for those of you... looking for a challenge, I suppose, as well as an easier, low-level one, yup yup.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Apr 7 2011, 08:32 AM

Added a PC page filter for Pokemon with Hold Items, yup yup.

Posted by: Zerxer May 20 2011, 03:24 AM

When changing a Pokémon's sprite, the sprites you've already unlocked in your Dex will have a lighter-colored background.

The shop's "My Inventory" section has been updated to display your inventory in a more-clean way. Items are now hidden underneath their categories. Click the category name to expand the items you have. The category heading also displays how many total items you have inside it and the total selling value of them.

Posted by: Zerxer Jun 20 2011, 01:06 PM

Google's +1 button has been added to the top of the site. This isn't as bad as the Facebook Like button (since I know there were people who hated that it was added) since it has more of a point; it will help the site with search results through Google. If you +1 it, it will let your contacts know you recommend it when it shows up in a search result listing, and will in general help it publicly.

There's one catch, you need to have a Google Account (and sign into it) in order for the +1 to go through. Most people already have one though, whether it's for Google Docs, GMail, iGoogle, an Android phone, or even YouTube. If you don't have one and don't want one, don't worry about pressing the button. Otherwise, if you want to help the site at all, go ahead and +1 us!

The +1 is only for the main URL itself, gpxplus.net, so pressing it on different pages will just toggle yourself on/off the +1 of the site itself. It's not for the page you're on, just the main site, so only press it once.

Posted by: Zerxer Jun 23 2011, 12:35 AM

The Easter Egg Hunt app can now be removed from your Pokétch if you've hatched all of your eggs (or never found any to begin with).

To do so, go to it (http://gpxplus.net/poketch#easter) and click the link in the text directly under your hatched items.

It has no use anymore, and will be force-removed at some point in the future to regain some space in the Pokétch.

So if you haven't hatched all of your eggs yet for some reason, I suggest you do it as soon as possible!

Posted by: Zerxer Jun 30 2011, 11:12 PM

Today is the 4th anniversary of GPX's parent site, and where these forums are located, GTSPlus!

In honor of that, and Canada Day, today is a 3.4 multiplier.

Posted by: Zerxer Jul 3 2011, 11:13 PM

Another multiplier today for Independence Day.

Hope everyone has a good 4th of July!

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Jul 4 2011, 11:10 PM

A couple of changes has been made to the Interaction requirements of two Normal Explorations. You now require 1500 Interactions (previously 6000) to embark on Incident in Yellow Forest. Mystery Creature of the Ruins has also been changed to require 6000 Interactions (previously 9500). You still need to meet the other two requirements of Achievements and Pokédex Entries to embark upon these Explorations, and those have not been changed. These are permanent changes and there are currently no plans to change the requirements of other Explorations at this time.

A thing to look for in the future will be a new Normal Exploration, which will be between Beachside Treasure and Incident in Yellow Forest in terms of difficulty and requirements. There are also plans to tidy up the Explorations Tab to better present the information.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jul 10 2011, 09:22 PM

Added a new tab to the stats page for the http://gpxplus.net/stats#weather, yup yup.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Aug 28 2011, 10:33 AM

I've added Pokemon base stats (used in the Battle Tower) to the dex.

Starting now, all Rare Evolution Items can be found in the Underground, not just Corruption Orbs.

As per last night's update to the shiny race thread, the Heat/Damp/Icy Rocks that were handed can now be used on Cherrim... check your dex for the method, yup yup.

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Aug 31 2011, 08:19 AM

A new Normal Exploration has just been released, called Sweet Success. Upon completion you will receive some Heart Sweets. There is another Normal Exploration also being worked on that is slowly making progress.

Posted by: Zerxer Aug 31 2011, 02:38 PM

Maybe I don't read enough threads here but I only now was told that TwistedSpoons were not able to stock in the Shop, even with the Purchase Power activated. This has been fixed, apologies for everyone.

Posted by: Zerxer Sep 9 2011, 11:55 PM

Each member has been sorted into one of three groups which you can find at the top left of your Pokétch, to the left of your URL. This is an affinity icon, the name of which is revealed upon hovering over it.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Sep 26 2011, 08:35 PM

The new prize system mentioned in the shiny race thread will be launching ahead of schedule - it'll be launching at the end of this week's Poke Hunt, which, moving forward, will also be using this new system, yup yup.

Posted by: Zerxer Oct 6 2011, 02:36 AM

Starting this coming Tuesday, the weekly Poké Hunt will now last an extra day; instead of ending the reset of Wednesday night, it will end the reset of Thursday night.

So you have Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to find and enter a winner instead of only two days! Which is good news for those who are actively seeking Prize Points.

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Oct 14 2011, 08:59 AM

There's a small new set of Trinkets available now centred around October/Halloween/Autumn. They will only be around until the end of the month (but will come back again next year). There will be a larger, permanent addition during the month of November.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Oct 16 2011, 11:02 AM

In preparation for some work on the Vs. Seeker, no Pokemon will be able to be deposited in it for the time being, yup yup.

EDIT: It's back online now: http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=59462

Posted by: Zerxer Nov 2 2011, 04:56 AM

A new image type has been created for sharing your party (among other things!).

Here is an example of it:

http://gpxpl.us/BmzY

This image will display your name, gender (if set), visible online status, a short URL to your party, as well as the Pokémon whose page you got the image code off of and up to 10 trinkets of your choosing! It will also give your entire party a view increase, the same way the party image does.

To add trinkets to the card, go to your Collection and use the 'options' link on the individual trinkets. A new option is now available: 'Add to User Card'. Clicking this will display the image to you and let you click on the slot you want to add the trinket to. Adding a trinket to it will decrease its usable quantity by 1, and you can have multiple of the same trinket on a card (if you have more than 1 in usable quantity).

To remove a trinket from the card, check the top of your Collection tab; a line of text will be there that states how many trinkets are currently on your card and a link to click to view the image (and then click the slots you want to remove trinkets from).

To get this image, go to one of your Pokémon's info pages and choose the 'Get image codes' option.

The default card uses Template 1. To change which card is the default, a new option is available in your Settings tab: "Default user card". You don't need to rely solely on this, though. For now, you can simply change the "c#.png" that is in the code you copy (change the # to the template number you desire). Changing your default template choice will not affect any previous codes you copied at all, it just affects which card # is used when first getting the codes.

Any bugs, please report them to me.

Starting with this month and all months after, if you are still embarked on a Special Exploration at the end of the month, you will have up until the 15th of the next month to complete it. This gives you a grace period of 2 weeks to finish it, if you so choose to. Canceling it during this 2 week period will not decrease the amount of special explorations you can embark on for that new month, since it was part of the previous month.

Note that the special explorations will be disabled at the end of the month still, so you have to already be embarked on it before the month is up. This does not apply to last month's now-ended explorations either.

In addition to that, you have been given your 6th party slot back while embarked on an exploration. However, you will still need to have an empty slot when initially embarking and when moving on to the next task (unless you currently have a Wild Pokémon). This means that while on a difficult/lengthy task, you can still make use of your full party.

And if you haven't already seen this change in the March update thread: Please keep in mind there has been a permanent change to the function of Pokémon tasks in Explorations in that you must obtain the needed Pokémon while working on that task specifically (basically, you can't collect them beforehand anymore). And for clarification, it's for EVERY Exploration, new and old, Normal and Special.

I've added a new NPC account, for http://gpxplus.net/user/Alex+and+Thomas, depicting the characters that will be running the Daycare and the Shelter. As with Professor Cypress, they'll have their own automated functions; they'll automagically interact with you if you interact with them (so be sure to add them to your Pal Pad and interact with them every day!), though for the most part for the time being, you'll just see them taking and raising Pokemon from the Safari Zone... though in the future, there's going to be additional functionality as well, yup yup. happy.gif

Effective immediately, in order to spread out when Daycare eggs are laid, as opposed to having all be born at once, and to reduce the server load for breeding, breeding times will now be segmented in to three times. Your Pokemon will now breed depending on your affinity - Azurite at xx:12, Malachite at xx:32, and Wulfenite at xx:52, yup yup.

There's a new PC box upgrade, Extra PC Box Ultra, that will be for sale immediately - you'll be able to buy it with Prize Points or regular Points (though to do so with regular Points, you'll have to do it on the new site). It's limited to 25 per user, yup yup.

I've made several visual upgrades to the Battle Tower, for Chrome/Safari (or Win8 Preview users on IE10) users, assuming you have animations enabled. Enjoy, yup yup!

You may now submit matchmaking requests for shiny races (on the new site). They won't actually be processed just yet, I need a few to be submitted to test with before I'll actually enable it, but it should be completed later on today. These enable you to be placed with a random users who is also looking for a shiny race, if you're having trouble finding friends to race against. More information can be found in the Shine Recorder, yup yup.

EDIT: Matchmaking requests will now be processed; the first batch will consequently go through at 4 PM server time, yup yup.

Took me a little while longer than I expected (had an emergency for most of last week) but the Sixth trinket set is now activated. It's a permanent set so no worries. The October set has also been updated but you won't see any of those new trinkets (along with the old ones) until October 1st. Submissions will reopen on October 1st.

There however is also something else that was done. In order to help with the process of creating new trinket sets, the entire queue of unused accepted trinkets has been deleted. This does NOT mean you cannot resubmit your old unused trinkets, BUT it also means that your resubmitted trinket COULD be denied as per submissions rules & notes. The queue simply just became so large to the point where it became unmanageable. I know some of you will be upset about it and I apologise about this mass deletion, but it was the only thing that could be done to make it manageable again.

Just a small update: Frillish, Jellicent and Unfezant have now all been updated to use their female icons, yup yup.

Well, that whole being sick thing really just completely messed up my schedule for a lot of things. I'm better now, but that's beside the point.

Unless by some miracle I can finish my real life work at an insane pace (insaner than the pace I already have to work at), there is no way I can have the time to sit down and work on two Trinket sets at the same time. I have to choose between adding to the December set and finishing the Seventh set. I've decided to choose adding to the December set. Since it's only run one month in the year, I see it as more important that it gets done first in a situation like this. This means that the Seventh trinket set will most likely be delayed until January. When December rolls around, I'll reopen submissions too.

There's no way the Seventh set will be delayed past January because I'm like seriously never busy during Christmastime (it's kind of weird, but convenient in some ways). I've honestly just spent most of my Christmases for the last few years doing stuff for this site because I have literally nothing else to do. So, that won't be a problem.

I'm deeply sorry for this, and if I can I'll try to make up for this somehow. Not quite sure what I could do, but I'm me so I imagine I'll come up with something eventually.

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Nov 30 2012, 08:04 PM

I've just reopened Trinket submissions. I will be working on absolutely nothing but Trinkets for the next several hours.

You have until ~8:30 PST tonight to guarantee your December Trinket makes it into the update.

Your submissions will be looked over at an insane rate for the next ~4 hours, after which it will drop off to the usual rate. THIS IS THE TIME TO GET IN ANY DECEMBER TRINKETS YOU HAVE SITTING AROUND. You can submit other Trinkets if you want.

(by the way, I'll be taking care of that new Exploration too.)

Posted by: Zerxer Jan 3 2013, 11:20 PM

A new section has been added to the Trinkets page: http://gpxplus.net/trinkets/stats

This page will show you a breakdown of the Trinkets you own by Group, Rarity, and the Affinities they're exclusive to. Clicking on one of the Rarity boxes will display a popup that breaks those numbers down further into the Affinities for that specific Rarity. And the same (reverse?) is true if you click on one of the Affinity boxes.

Hope this satisfies the collectors out there.

In the near future, the final version of jQuery 2.0, the JavaScript framework that the site uses, will be released, which drops support for some obsolete web browsers, particularly Internet Explorer 8 and lower, in order to improve performance and load times. In the interest of providing the best experience, we'll be adopting this new version once it's available. While we haven't supported IE8 or lower in years, at this point in time, the site will cease to function in any capacity in IE8 (and any other similarly obsolete web browsers), so we recommend the ~1% of you who still uses these legacy web browsers to upgrade or switch to a modern web browser before this date, yup yup.

I went through and looked at how much stuff there was, and decided I'll have Trinket submissions open for just a few days this month. Get your stuff submitted while you can!

Posted by: Big Bidoof Feb 25 2013, 06:00 PM

We've made a small tweak to the Release Plus, which is currently active - it'll continue to apply to every Pokemon and Egg, except for unhatched eggs you've obtained from the Lab. From this point forward, before being eligible to be released within 12 hours of being adopted without needing a Heart Scale, Lab Eggs must first be hatched, yup yup.

The Eighth Trinket Set is now here. There are 300 Trinkets total in this set. It's permanent, so enjoy. Submissions will also be open for a few days. Get your April Trinkets submitted now! But I also now need a ton of just general stuff too after that.

Okay, I'm gonna have Trinket submissions open for just a few days. Haven't decided if I'm releasing the Ninth set in May or June.... but either way I need more Trinkets for the July set.

As mentioned in the Month of May thread, I said there would be a new Normal Exploration this month. It's finally put together and now activated. It is a permanent addition to the Normal Explorations and is part of the set of Summoning Item Explorations. It is titled "A Vacation to Remember."

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Sep 27 2013, 12:48 PM

All of Global Pokedex Plus Discussion has been updated to allow post count incrementation.

Posted by: Zerxer Mar 15 2015, 05:56 PM

The 3 Plus vouchers (Legend, Sh. Legend, regular Sh.) have been updated to include Kalos Pokémon.

For the two Legend ones, this includes the 4 Kalos legendaries currently available on GPX. Once the rest have been added to the site, the Legend Plus vouchers will be updated to include them.

If you already happen to still have an existing Plus voucher, it will automatically include the Kalos Pokémon. The same goes for the Legend Plus Voucher that is in the Prize Shop: you can purchase it and use it on the 4 legends right now.

Posted by: Zerxer Apr 5 2015, 12:29 AM

Happy Easter, everyone!

Log in today and you'll receive a special Easter 2015 Voucher! This voucher can be redeemed for a new breed-able novelty which has two special sprites as well as a normal sprite (use the Change Sprite option to switch between them; requires a Sprite Changer item).

From Monday the 6th thru Sunday the 12th, the voucher will be available for purchase in the Prize Shop.

Novelty idea and all sprites done by one of our contributors, PokeNOM.

Also, another minor update is regarding the Inventory: I moved some of the "Mystery" items into their own categories. I also removed the "Mysterious Letter" from everyone's inventory that had one. While some may wonder why if it was never given a use, I will say that it did have a use a few years ago: back when we were beta testing the new version of the website, anyone with a "Mysterious Letter" was able to access the beta. We've decided that it won't have any future use, so it was best to just remove it.

Posted by: Zerxer Apr 5 2015, 12:53 AM

BONUS UPDATE: Mobile site users can now obtain their free Mega Stone on Mega Plus days without having to get on the full/main website! The same goes for this Easter voucher.

The help page section related to the Underground has been updated: http://gpxplus.net/help/poketch/37

QUOTE
Beginning today, Pokémon might return from the Underground with a special Regional Flag to symbolize that they traveled to a new region. These Flags are necessary to form-change Vivillon. You can only collect each Flag once, as they are permanent items; there are 19 total Flags. If a Pokémon has traveled to a new region and returned with a Flag, their chance of becoming infected with Pokérus is greater (but only if they are brought directly back to your Party).

Furthermore, the infection/transmission rates for Pokérus have been increased.

As you all have noticed over the last month or so, the site has been going down for a couple of minutes at x:05 and x:35 which is when the Stats page is updated.

I have finally optimized the update-stats code so that not only does it take under a minute to run, it won't prevent the site from loading while it's running.

However, with this comes a change that may confuse some of you at first: most of the User/Pokémon stats have been updated to only include users who have signed in at least once in the last 14 days. This only affects the "Top 10" counts on the Stats page itself; your actual stats will still exist, no matter how long you're gone. Your ranking will also remain unchanged. Because of this, someone with Rank 1 in "Most Views" might not be #1 in the "Top 10" list for the "Most Views" stat.

Once an inactive user logs in again, they will begin reappearing in the Top 10 (if they're ranked that high) until they're inactive for another 14 or more straight days.

If you ever want to see the actual Top 10 stat rankings, including all users whether they're inactive or not, you can go to the Users page and filter the list by a specific Stat.

Posted by: Jen May 10 2015, 04:06 PM

I updated the mega base stats to all be 650, so if you're a battler then you might have some team tweaking that you may want to do.

Some of you already figured this out though, you clever butts. wink.gif

Credit to Matt (Gambrinous Antiscian) for providing a stat spread for them to be updated.

As you likely noticed before even seeing this update, we're introducing a new Helpful Tips system which will display a random tip above your main/party page. Some tips are always enabled, while other ones become dynamically enabled depending on certain conditions, so that they only show when they're relevant.

We'll be continuously adding more tips, and while these are primarily to help out new members who don't already know every inch of the place, we'll hopefully include some obscure ones that even pro players may not have known.

You are free to disable the tips on the Settings page: "Disable tips above your Party"

Winners: Don't forget to leave a spot (or two) open during the days that your chosen Pokémon is being handed out so that I can place one in your party. The past two months I was placing the egg in there just before running the event, but this month it's going to be whenever I can. Sorry!

Each month there have been questions concerning where the event eggs are coming from. http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?s=&showtopic=72875&view=findpost&p=2426479 Check out the second post for the egg distribution info and be sure to read the first post before posting if you decide to participate. Here is the list:
July 3rd: Mew - Winner: Nemu - 350 eggs
July 4th: This one Pokémon is enjoying the coolness of the southern hemisphere. ~ It is a Mystery - 350 eggs
July 5th: This Pokémon is enjoying three months in the heat of the northern hemisphere. ~ It is a Mystery ~ 350 eggs

We now support SSL (secure connections) via https!

What this means for you, besides a more secure connection, is that you'll finally be able to use the Mobile Walker in browsers like Chrome again, and we won't have to worry about GPX being marked as unsafe as Google pushes to steer users away from regular http websites.

For now, you can switch over to the secure domain by going directly to https://gpx.plus/

If you use the mobile website, the same is true for that: https://m.gpx.plus/

You will automatically be sent to the secure website even if you don't specifically go to one of the above URLs, and you will know you're on the secure version because there will typically be a little lock icon to the left in your browser's URL bar. The forums are already set to use the secure URL by default, so you should see that on this very page if you look up. (edit: actually, you may not see the lock on the forums due to a lot of insecure content being loaded from various images being posted / avatars / signatures / etc)

If you run into any strange bugs related to this, please let me know.

Thanks.

edit: One thing I should point out is that because of this change, browser-specific settings on the site (such as your last Shop tab active, Berry Feeder settings, and other minor items) will reset back to default since they were saved specifically for the "http" URL.

For users who have gotten all the Ancient Plates and used them all in the "Death of the World" exploration to get each of the Arceus forms: you will now be able to endlessly embark on the same exploration, which will give you a regular Arceus as the prize each time. This will allow you to shiny hunt Arceus.

Coming later, we will have a way to form-change regular Arceus into any one of the other forms, which means shiny hunting regular Arceus will lead you to getting one of the other forms as a shiny. You'll only be able to form-change regular Arceus, and you won't be able to reverse it.

For those who have gotten a regular Arceus from past events or from the lab/shelter, you won't be able to form-change to a form that you don't have a used Ancient Plate for.

I'll remind everyone of those restrictions once we actually have a way for Arceus to change forms.

Posted by: Zerxer Aug 5 2017, 02:42 PM

We've got a few small changes for you all:

  1. We've completely removed the "special eggs" limit on novelties and legendaries. This was necessary back when the site was far more active and is no longer needed.
  2. The 9 new Magikarp will now have a higher chance of breeding.
  3. Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini have been added to the Legend Voucher Plus.

Posted by: Zerxer Oct 1 2017, 10:05 PM

The prize for September's SWSH was both a Zygarde Voucher and a Zygarde Cube.

Here's what you need to know:

The voucher is actually for a Zygarde [Cell], a new Pokémon added tonight.

The Cube is a new Account Upgrade, with a max of 1. Those of you who didn't win one can purchase one in the Main Shop for 750,000 points.

Every time you hatch a Zygarde [Cell], a counter on your Cube will go up by 1 (with a max power of 200). In your inventory, this will just look like a quantity indicator next to the item name, so if you initially see x0, this is not a bug -- it means your Cube is at 0 power.

Once you hit at least 10 on your Cube's counter, you will be able to use it like a voucher to obtain a Zygarde [Core], which is another new Pokémon added tonight.

If you let your Cube keep accumulating power, you will be able to obtain other Zygarde forms at different amounts. For 100 power, you can get a regular Zygarde (now given a "50%" form name). Two other Zygardes will be added within the next week, one obtainable at 20 power and another at 200 power. These will be "10%" and "Complete", for form names.

Once you've decided to use some of your Zygarde Cube's power to obtain a specific form's egg, your Cube's power will be reduced by that amount. So if you have 15 power on your Cube and you obtain a Zygarde [Core], your Cube will be reduced to 5 power.

All Zygarde forms are now breedable with each other and all will produce Zygarde [Cell] so that you can keep hatching them to boost your Cube's power.

Did you know the Chinese 'Year of the Rat' starts on the 25th of January...? *hinthint* wink.gif

Wow guys...!

I met a strange-looking Pokémon today. It seemed particularly interested in a certain subject.
I think I'll try and persuade it to come over and run a little event... soon. wink.gif

Keep an eye out for announcement posts!

The strange Pokémon was absolutely horrified to be confused with Blipbug.
It asked me, as it shuddered with dread: 'Who-who-who suggested I was anything like this critter?!'
It was nightfall already when it finally calmed down. Fortunately, it's still willing to come over for the event!
Expect a detailed description soon!

Tomorrow (on the 4th of April/Easter), there will be a Painted Torchic distribution!
There's extra chance of finding a shiny one, so be sure to keep a party space open at 4 PM server time!

Good luck!

Hey everyone!
Hope everyone's doing well!

Just a little announcement: it'll be my 34th birthday on the 1st of October!
That's why I wanted to treat you guys to a... Beeark distribution!
It's dear to me, because it's the only novelty I've designed all by myself, completely from scatch!

How to participate:
- Keep a party space open on the 1st of October on 4 p.m. server time!
- You MUST have logged in sometime on GPX+ in the last two weeks.
- You can not be in the Restricted Group.

There'll be a couple of guaranteed shinies in there, so keep those fingers crossed!
Remember, participating will only give you a chance to get one. It's a randomized event with a set number of eggs being handed out.

Good luck!

Hi all, I've finally started to experiment with the experience mechanics, to help out during slow days.

For now, I've simply doubled the base experience your eggs and Pokémon receive from clicks. This will of course multiply further whenever there's a multiplier, which may prove to be too much, so I'll likely continue to experiment and tweak it as the weeks go by.

Also, a week ago I did a brief database maintenance after midnight (if you saw the site down for a couple of minutes). I tweaked one of our main tables with the thought that it'll reduce the lag everyone experiences during high-activity periods (usually when an event and multiplier are active).

I won't know for sure if my improvement helped until the SWSH starts.

There will be an egg giveaway on August 13th to celebrate my birthday! Remember to leave an open space in your party.

To celebrate our 15th Anniversary along with Fuecoco and its evolutions being introduced, the much requested Regieleki Voucher will be available to purchase in the Prize Shop for 50 Prize Points throughout the month of February! Previously, Regieleki was limited to being distributed in the 2024 New Years Raffle Event, so not everyone was able to obtain one.

That's not all, the current Voucher Plus/Sh. Voucher Plus and the Legend Plus/Sh. Legend Plus Vouchers have been updated to include all Pokémon that are allowed to be redeemed through the Voucher up to todays Fuecoco release.

[Voucher Plus Includes: Galarian Farfetch'd, Arrokuda, Galarian Slowpoke, Chewtle, Indeedee, Sprigatito, Hisuian Zorua, and Fuecoco]
[Legend Voucher Plus Includes: Kubfu, Regidrago, and Regieleki]
