Hey guys. Here be a place to discuss the new additions to the site; Plus.

What improvements you think might be added over time, and what (if any) new ones might be implemented.

Personally, I'd love to see an Infinite Repels plus, due to manically hunting Unown in the lab. noes.gif

Also, I have a question based on them; do they increase by themselves a little at a time? Or is their charge based solely on contributions?

Repel+ would be kindve crazy and perhaps a bit unfair to people who already have basicly complete dexes.

I doubt they increase on their own, as theres already plenty of automatic perks (pass counter, aurora, etc.) without make pluses count as well.


Anyway, it's not particularly surprising that we filled one up immediately, but it'll be interesting to see how common the pluses end up activating in practice once the initial surge dies down.

Hatch+ seems amazing since theres multipliers alongside it, and sweets+ is apt to be great for novel breeders. I've never found sweet honey to be particularly useful since refreshing isn't that difficult and I'm quite familiar with all my shiny hunt egg appearances, so honey doesn't really do much except save a fairly insignificant few seconds at the shelter. Release+ could be useful too if I feel inclined to hatch 400+ eggs (quite possible with multipliers) in a day. Trinket+ isn't quite as exciting but still nice, same for pass+.

I don't really care about prize+ though, as it's unlikely that I'd want to spend my prize points on an old event voucher instead of saving them for a Legend plus voucher or something like that. Multipliers are always nice, but this certainly seems the least useful of the bunch, which is why I'm surprised it's so full. I suppose people think there's an arceus voucher (there's not) or something like that?

My favorite part about them is that they come attached with a multiplier. Just that alone is enough as I consider whichever plus is active as just a nice bonus. I'm thinking my favorite one will probably be the shelter+ one, because at some point in the day I end up not having any shelter grabs left and I don't feel like clicking for anymore. tongue.gif

On the whole, I really do like this new system, particularly because everyone is benefitting in two ways from it. One, of course, is the bonus of having the multipliers and the Plus effects, but the second is that the users are LITERALLY helping to keep this site online by donating. That is pretty awesome, in my mind. And yeah, THAT part has been around forever, but I want to reiterate it because...well, it's pretty cool. Community efforts make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Repel is absurdly helpful for those with near complete dexes. It shows the ones that they haven't got, on the rare chance of them being there.

You'd be amazed how important those seconds are.

Think about it; hundreds of people online, all looking for the same egg. If you spend 30 seconds refreshing and looking for one egg, and someone else uses Sweet Honey, spending 5 seconds grabbing as many eggs. This means you'd lose out most of the time. *nods*

Honey plus is a godsend lol
next time I try for 400k, just that alone, if activated, will save me loads of time from refreshing for eggs I want grin.gif

If you ask me, the Honey+ was a complete disaster. At least for me. Crazy user activity today, x3 multiplier and everyone being able to filter out their shiny hunts made shelter just completely devoid of anything I need until I think Big Bidoof doubled daycare output (suddenly my pair started breeding 20 instead of 10). And even then, I could hardly find anything but Ralts and Druddigon. And all that activity makes all the eggs pre-mature within 20 minutes, even if I remain hidden as offline! It was completely de-motivating me for any activity.

I love this new system a lot. I think, like Jen, that the multiplier is just as awesome--if not better--than the benefit. I've had a great time hatching shiny fails with the Sweet Honey effect.


I am also happy that we can increase donations for the site without making the system unfair.


I can't wait til the trinket plus gets activated. I am almost as desperate to complete my trinket collection as I am my pokemon collection.

Pretty cool, the multiplier is helping me out with my shiny Zorua hunt.
But like the above said, crazy user activity, and this Honey+ is giving veteran users an unfair advantage over newbie users. The experienced user is basically hoarding all the good eggs from the Egg Shelter.

When I said basicly complete dexes, I had 'complete except for legends' in mind. I'm not really opposed to it necessarily since multipliers are always cool, but for people who already have all the unowns along with all the non-legends, the plus itself wouldn't do anything.


I've almost never been in the position where all the things I'm shiny hunting are rare enough in the shelter that I really need to fight for the last egg. Without using honey it's typically been *take one, refresh, take one, refresh, try to take one but get beaten to it, refresh, take a different one, done*. With honey it's *use honey, take one, take one, take one, done*. The latter saves a couple seconds, but if theres plenty of the egg around it's just a couple seconds, and not minutes+ as the slow user waits for more eggs to be donated. Besides, if the eggs in question are really rare, everyone else also has unlimited honey as well, so you don't really get an advantage by using it, and it again ends up to being a contest to see who clicks fastest. It's not useless, but it just doesn't strike me as being as useful as people make it out to be.

Seems like we'll have so many multipliers from now on, it almost feels unbalanced at first glance... Not complaining or anything. People click more on multipliers. I love it. The fact that with more people clicking and the Pass Counter reaching Critical Mass, making the next day Backroomless, doesn't make up for it in my opinion... oh well.

I think I'm the only one who doesn't really like the multipliers.... with the combined SWSH/pass counter multipliers, I felt that it was almost too much (but somewhat understandable since we had an event). Now we have three-day multipliers for each plus activated, aurora and pass counter (not to mention that plus and pass counter will probably stack due to activity on plus days) - do we really need that much? I used to think of multipliers as something special that only happened once in a while. Now they're getting too common.

Can't say much about the plus powers since I'll stick to the old donation system. Trinket+ is the only thing I'm really interested in, and that's nowhere near enough to give up the permanent ad block. And who knows how frequently the plus counters fill up once the hype dies down - no thanks. But it's still amazing how they made the whole system completely fair for everyone. I can't think of any other sites where donating really feels like donating, not like buying stuff.

Interested by trinket+ (i want all trinkets), hatch+ (with multiplier, it's really useful) and maybe voucher+ (if there are all voucher, including shinies and arceus voucher)

shelter+ (can be interesting, but with berry feeder, it fast to increase shelter grab, especially with proper berry it's less than 10minutes)
honey+ (not really useful, with few refresh, you find your egg easily)
sweet+ (not really useful, it's rare to obtain 2 novelties in same batch)
release+ (useless, with new pc box, you have no problem with pc slot during multiplier)
pass orb+ (useless, i have lot of pass orb, i not use)

Yeah, if they sold shiny vouchers I'd spend everything I have on them in a flash, but it's highly doubtful they're included.

Another issue with the voucher+ thing imo is the fact that even for the people who are interested in it, it's still only useful to them for a few minutes out of the 3 days as they buy all the vouchers they want, and afterwords they'd be out of points and the plus wouldn't serve an further purpose.

Technically speaking, you can also win an Arceus as a contest/raffle prize, but since those only run once or twice a year they're not exactly to be counted on either.

Anyway, I really, honestly love the stress on fairness and not putting donors on a pedestal. The multipliers might get a bit excessive for now, but I'm sure they'll wane off as the initial hype dies down. (Hopefully the site will still make enough revenue, but yeah.) I'm sure the users who can't donate for one reason or another appreciate the sitewide bonuses, and it might encourage others to donate thereby benefiting both the users and the site. (:

I hope Trinket+ is next. I need them all. Every single one. ;__; I'm sure a lot of users would appreciate Hatch+ though! I'm glad that it was able to be implemented without being too game-breaking.

Hatch+ is probably one of the most awesome of these. As long as the lab and shelter can provide enough eggs that I don't have shiny, this will be very awesome when combined with a good multiplier.

Release+ isn't something I feel that will be useful to me, since I've always had enough pc space to put what I hatch in. But if I end up with a lot of shelter grabs left at the end of a day, notably during a SWSH, this can be used to mass adopt pokemon and release them until all the grabs are spent. Otherwise, grabbing lots of lab eggs and releasing them all could provide some interesting effects.

Trinket+ will be good for all trinket collectors, and it will give the traders a good benefit because the people you trade with will also have a higher chance of having better stuff, because everyone get more trinkets.

Shelter+ isn't really something I see that much use of personally, since I never had much issues with running out of shelter grabs.

Pass+ isn't really useful for me other than for getting records in pass orbs in a day, since I have a lot more pass orbs than I can ever see myself using. But I guess it'll have a nice effect on making users more likely to get pass orbs, because of the psychological effect.

Prize+ seems kinda unclear to me, since exactly what vouchers it gives you the opportunity to buy hasn't been mentioned yet. It could be potentially useful once in a blue moon, because you'd most likely need a lot of prize points to make use of it.

Sweets+ seems very good for novelty hunting, but since it gives you no limits, grabbing 2 eggs from a regular pair will be a good idea to have 100% control on when one more egg is laid compared to adopted. Being able to do so an infinite amount of times with no cost makes this a good idea.

Honey+ just seems good as well, the only downside is that more users get focused on picking up hunt eggs, which apparently puts more pressure on the availability than the shelter can handle.

I can live without honey+ right now, so I'm waiting for something better before switching over to the new donation system, probably trinket+ or hatch+, but I will enjoy it after switching. And I will probably donate at some point, because I do like not having ads, but some of these pluses are things I don't want to live without. I'll figure out when my ad free period expires.

I do see how this needs to be done. It's not like it's going to work to have users pay one sum of money one time to make up for them not having ads ever again.
