Double posting cause I'm sure you saw my last post. Anyway...this is my attempt to hurry up and not hold you guys back so personality and somewhat history isn't all that great. Just deal with, lol. And on that note, if I forgot something it will be shown when I post. I honestly can't remember what I included and what I meant to include.
Name: Gabriel Denza
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Hometown/Home Region: Castelia City, Unova
Loyalty: Trainer (Good)
The Badges: Bolt Badge – Inventiveness (main) and Coal Badge – Philomathy
History: Gabriel was born and lived his preteens in Castelia City, Unova. There he grew to love the technology which went into constructing the industrialized town. He spent of his time down at the docks, investigating the components of the ships, sometimes with permission but most often without. Spending most of his younger years investigating the world, he was drawn to his mother, who painted. He would often sit beside her and watch her work, occasionally doing work himself, however, it was always the technique which impressed him the most rather than the final product.
When he was seven, he acquired his first pokemon which was given to him by his father as an egg. He had acquired the egg through a business deal as a gift from a mutual partner and Gabriel was overjoyed to receive the egg and even more so when it hatched into an eevee, a prized pokemon. The pair grew together, reflecting upon each other’s personalities until they became inseparable and almost undistinguishable. It was this pair that terrorized the town.
They stole objects which he found interesting and in secret crafted them into various devices, which at his young age hardly worked. Despite the numerous failures, Gabriel’s love never died and soon it was well known throughout the town that the pair of them would take any little knick-nack which was left out in the open and it soon became a game between him and the more relaxed residents. They would leave little objects, which they no longer desired, and would wait for the pair to take them. Most of the time they came early in the morning or late at night, escaping detection but it was the possibility that he could be found and lose the game that made it all the more exiting. And with their help, he built numerous things, which he of coursed showed those which had provided objects when they were completed.
When he was old enough to set out on his own pokemon journey, as most children did, he received a thunder stone and so took his Jolteon, setting out for the nearest city, Nimbasa. He had visited Nimbasa once as a child for a vacation as the city was overrun with entertainment and so he was easily attracted to the numerous parks. It was there that Jolt and him were introduced to battling, something he had seen before but had never participated in. It was also there that he met Elisa, the electric gym leader.
Intrigued by the way in which battles ran their course, he challenged her but as he only had one pokemon, an electric pokemon, he wasn’t able to defeat Elisa any of the times he challenged her. In frustration, he turned to the Gear Station and Battle Institute to gain experience. The Battle Institute was sufficient but he found that he was more intrigued with watching double battles rather than participating in them himself; that is until he battled a particular trainer.
Prior to this he had expressed to his parent’s, who had questioned how his journey was going, that he hadn’t managed to win a gym battle. To this they sent him a pokemon, one that happened to be his father’s. It was a Dewott, a pokemon which had helped his father many a time at work and was gifted with an ever stone. It was a gifted pokemon that despite having a type disadvantage knew protect and therefore would be a good pokemon to counteract this disadvantage and allow Jolt to use her electrical moves more efficiently with the use of Rain Dance.
He had seen this particular trainer, a female who battled with a jolteon as well, numerous times but he had never actually challenged her and it was a shock to find them pitted together. To be honest, he was worried with them having the exact same pokemon and her having more experience as well as Dewott being the weaker of the types. During the course of the battle he was astonished by the technique which she used to make her pokemon aesthetically collaborative as well as effective. Losing just narrowly of tying, he vowed to raise his pokemon in the manner in which she had.
Gabriel then set his sights upon the Gear Station, his father’s trade of business, in which he traveled to various towns, battling the trainers which used the subway. As he traveled, he acquired three gym badges and raised his pokemon so that they were not only effective but also aesthetically pleasing. During this time, however, his level of distraction by certain objects or pokemon increased. This led to many battles with exceptional trainers where he simply forgot that he was battling or simply walked off from someone when he noticed a contraption or art form which was creative but all the time his love for his pokemon grew.
After a few years of this training, he returned to Nimbasa and challenged Elisa again, this time pulling off a miraculous win. It was the toughest battle that Gabriel had faced yet and the win felt far well than any had previously. Overjoyed, the Jolt Badge was a great reward for finally defeating Elisa after having failed so many times. And with this, he returned home to show his parent’s. At the time, he only had four gym badges, something a real trainer would have probably look down upon but he was pleased with their progress.
Hearing about contests, he begged his parent’s to let him go to Sinnoh and later that year for his fourteenth birthday, they paid for his trip. He was overjoyed, mostly because of the contests but also because his uncle, which he had never met, had a house there. And upon arriving in Sinnoh, he took residence at his uncle’s house, one town over from where he had arrived. He only ended up staying there for a few months, which was longer than he had planned because his uncle lived in Sunnyshore and the gym leader, Vulkner, happened to have a Jolteon as well, before travelling on to neighboring towns, eventually acquiring the Coal Badge due to the fact that he wanted to train his Jolteon against a type disadvantage.
Continuing, he arrived in Hearthome City where he entered into contests, advancing his skills and acquiring numerous ribbons due to their skills. After months of this, which others might begin to grow tired with, he still loved but he had to admit that his graving for the understanding of something mechanical was growing and so he set out again, his faithful pokemon at his side. He never really settled but did have an apartment which he frequently visited but he mainly remained on the road.
By continuing to travel into his adult years, he was always subject to experiencing new situations in which he had not been before. It was quite common for him to stay in a town for a few months before moving on to the next, following the classic track of a trainer but remaining free from the obsessed battling lifestyle. This is not to say that he didn’t battle. He did battle but if he did so he always did aesthetically and therefore never truly fought aggressively. Few could prompt him to fight aggressively rather than aesthetically but asking him to do so is practically a death sentence.
Personality: Gabriel’s personality when alone is not extremely different than when he is around others. Overall, he is a kind and open person without a speck of misfortune in his past. He does not wish to hurt others and actually is rather intrigued by the creative levels of others. He is a good friend as he is someone that you can smile or laugh with easily whether that friend is male or female. Stereotypes do not exist to him and never apply. He never judges a person by their first actions but takes the time to understand and evaluate a person so that he can truly identify which type of person they are. His attitude could most easily be described as cool but most definitely as never something which he is not.
His mind is highly creative. Constantly thoughts are swimming through his mind on ways that objects were constructed and function. He appreciates all forms of art such as music, drawing, and machinery and often finds himself mentally improving these forms without meaning to, noticing the shapes which create an object. Intrigued by all things, he over analyses basic objects and therefore has a deep understanding for things of the mechanical nature. He finds true inspiration in the performance of pokemon. Their performances in battle, in particular double battles and especially if their moves are used in a fluid like fashion, distract him. He easily slips into a state of awe or deep thought when something is forming in his mind due to the observation of something with great quality or construction.
Not only does he draw inspiration from pokemon and machinery but also the landscape. He is quite content with simply sitting silently and observing the changes the landscape takes as the day progresses. He finds that the easiest way for him to express this love is through forms of art or machinery, granting him over time a slightly above average intelligence and gift for sketching. This need to express his inspiration derives from the want to create something which will stand the test of time. He realizes that it will take a great deal of time before he has mastered enough skill to accomplish this goal but it is a goal that he will not allow to remain unfinished.
His Jolteon is the most important thing to him because for one thing, she was his first pokemon and because her form interests him. The jagged nature of a Joelton’s fur and the electricity, which is stored inside it, inspires him as electricity is a prime energy source for machinery functioning. Her nature adds to his extreme loving of her because she too is curious about things, often sticking her nose into thing which she probably shouldn’t. Yet it is this curiosity which has fueled her understanding of the world, therefore, giving her an exceptional capacity for intelligence. He expresses this love by refusing to use her poke’ball, instead allowing her to trot at his feet or ride on his shoulder. He always keeps her close to his person and quite often simply hugs her out of devotion.
Gabriel, despite having battled for a while as a trainer and acquiring numerous badges, prefers to spend his time breaking down and constructing objects or spending time with his pokemon. If he does bother to train than he pits two of his pokemon against each other, typically allowing them freedom to fight as they wish. This allows his pokemon to grow on their own without him having to force them into submission to how he wants the battle to run and it is through this manner that new, interesting combinations of moves can be discovered. Sometimes while watching these matches, he will see gaps in their structure and will then spend time directly after training to analysis how to fix them. It also provides inspiration for new techniques.
His battle style is mostly aesthetic. He will fight in this manner most often instead of fighting aggressively with the intent to win. His intent in fighting aesthetically is to express the beauty of his pokemon while continuing a smooth defense. However, he can battle aggressively and asking him to do so is practically a death sentence. At this point, the health of his pokemon is a care, but instead of his tactics being more flowed and smooth they become edged and rough, extremely unpredictable with a high level of trickery. At this point, losing is not an option and the ultimate failure.
Appearance: Gabriel stands at 6’3” with clear peachy skin. It is devoid of marks or blemishes and has a youthful look to it. His figure is long and skinny with average muscle build and a rather defined chin. His fingers are slightly longer than normal, allowing for better manipulation of small objects, while his eyes are sharp and intriguing. His hair is a dusty blonde, which has slowly changed to brown as he has aged yet the resemblance to the blonde it once was is clearly seen near the tips of his hair as the roots changed color first. He is not drop dead gorgeous or even particularly handsome. Instead he is a prime example of the average male and so is of average attraction.
Having heterochromia means that his eyes are two different colors, an uncommon trait. His right eye is amber, somewhat on the verge of a golden orange, with darker flecks and is the eye which portrays a more silently intrigued personality. His left eye is blue, somewhat on the verge of being the color of ice, with darker flecks as well and is the eye which portrays a more openly curious personality. In truth he is a mixture of the two and it is mainly the eye color which creates the distinction rather than any other form of physical or emotional trait. This however can seem to account for a duel-personality when in truth they are simply slight modifications of the same personality.
His hair, despite its slightly changed color, is for the most part blonde with hints of brown. It is slightly longer than the average males and so is kept in a low ponytail, which is short in itself, held by a black band. The rest of his hair is rather unkept and spikes on the sides. His bangs, which if allowed to lay flat, would probably cover the tops of his eyes but because they are held up by one of his two pairs of goggles, fans around his eyes, the longest bit being between them. He does not have sideburns but instead bangs which grow out to the edge of his chin, curving inward towards his face. This hair covers his ears, only exposing a small portion on the sides. The top of his head is adorned with two slightly large cowlicks peaking on the crest in opposite directions.
His upper wear consists of a shirt and jacket, which are both adorned with numerous designs. The shirt’s base color is black with orange highlights. These highlights take on the form of lines with varying thicknesses that run vertically along the shirt from bottom to top. These lines are spread unevenly and are surrounded by smaller squares of orange which give a pixilated affect. In all the design portrays a similar visual to that of a computer’s coding. The jacket, which is short and cuts slightly lower than half way down his torso, is mainly blue with black and white highlights. The shoulders from the top third of his chest to the back third of his chest, not crossing the shoulder seams, are completely black. The white portions of the jacket resemble the grid points of a computers chip, creating a rather similar feel as the shirt. These designs are primarily on the lower portion of the front and the arms but also are present on the back of the jacket as well. Two black strips run down the arms, cutting at the cuffed sleeves, which cut just above the elbow. In addition, the collar is white and fans out slightly, cupping around his neck and cutting half way down his jacket.
His lower wear consists of a pair of pants and shoes. The pants are a bright tan color and is quite form fitting in comparison to his looser upper wear. The pants are also adorned with a similar computer chip design as the shirt and jacket. They are located at the leggings of the pant and on the left upper hip. These designs, along with the ones on the remainder of his cloths, were printed by his hand. In addition to his pants and undergarment, he wears a rather unique pair of shoes. These shoes, which have also been altered form their original purchase, are a mixture of white, blue and black, like the jacket. The shoes are laced from the top of the foot to the top of the shoe, which folds over only a few inches above the top of the foot. These laces are slip tie laces and so do not tie. The lower portion of the shoe has black sides, a blue toe, and black soles. The top of the shoe as well as the folds are white minus the bottom, which has a unique black pattern.
In addition to his basic apparel, Gabriel carries numerous accessories and tools. Most of these are located on a belt around his waist. This belt is primarily a creamy white or perhaps light gray with varying pinned holes around the edges. Attached to the left side of this belt is a little bag, which is the same color as the belt, with a little leaf like design on the flap. A thinner, yellow belt which wraps in a cross over the gray belt, hangs over his right hip. Just below this is one of the two pocket bags which are attached ot the sides of his pants. These two bags hold various tools with different colored handles such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers. Underneath the gray belt, swooping in the opposite direction but in a similar fashion to the yellow belt, is a black cord which has three objects hanging from metal clips attached to it. The objects, from front to back, are a screwdriver with a blue handle, a pair of pliers with a red handle, and a black box which holds his badges.
Around his hands he wears a pair of fingerless gloves, which cut half way from the palm to the first knuckle of each finger. This glove is primarily black but has blue cuffs and blue fabric on the fingers, leaving only the palm black. Wrapped around the cuff are two small black belts with silver buckles. In addition to these belts are four more belts, which are strapped on his arms. The right arm has on belt just above the cuff and one belt a few inches below his armpit. On the left arm the belts are both on the cuff, creating an unsymmetrical effect. These belts are an inch to two inches thick and are tightly belted. To contrast this, there is a black cloth pinned around his upper left arm.
The goggles, which he wears atop his head, serve two purposes. One is so that he can keep things out of his eyes, essentially the main purpose for goggles, and the second is to protect his eyes when using a blow torch as one pair has specialized lenses. The lower pair of goggles, the ones which divide his bangs either under or above, are black with blue lenses. These are the ones used for mechanical work. Above these, behind his bangs, is his other pair of goggles which are white with orange lenses. In truth he probably only needs the one pair of goggles but having two shows a slight level of creativity which he appreciates. In addition to these goggles is a small bandage on the right cheek of his face. This covers a basic cut, which he received through work on a machine.
Piercings: N/A
Pokemon Team: Name: Jolt (he was 7!)
Species: Jolteon
Gender: Female
Personality: Jolt is a rather curious pokemon, creating a great capacity for knowledge. Her personality is quite reflective and similar to Gabriel’s and therefore they are a perfect match. She adores him greatly and shows this through her increased participation in his studies and devoting actions. Her love for him is apparent through her letting of him carry her and constant presence around him. She never leaves his side and is always aware of the feelings running through his mind. Therefore, she easily knows if something is bothering him and proceeds to attempting to cheer him up.
Her attitude is carefree and accepting, just as Gabriel’s. Her will to succeed, however, could be considered slightly greater than his. Jolt cannot stand to lose and therefore gives everything that is possible during a battle. However, she does not go against her trainer’s commands but simply attempts to perform them at a professional level in a manner which would please him greatly. This extreme attention to detail has equipped her almost perfectly for double battles and contest, both which Gabriel prefer to traditional battles.
Moveset: Thunder, Quick Attack, Thunder Fang, and Shadow Ball
Ability: Volt Absorb (absorbs electricity into HP)
Name: Lan
Species: Dewott
Gender: Male
Personality: Lan is quite particular because he, unlike most Dewott, runs on four legs instead of two. This habit’s origin is unclear but probably derived from the style of training which Gabriel used to train Jolt and him. Along with this difference, he also it highly protective of not only Gabriel but Jolt as well due to the fact that he grew up alongside them before they all left to begin their journey. Therefore, he will protect the pair regardless of what threat stands in his path and therefore is suspect to taking on challenges which are too great for him.
He too is creative like Gabriel but due to the fact that he was once raised by his father, he is more structured in this creative art. This somewhat displeases Gabriel but the pair get along almost as well as he does with Jolt. He is the one which prefers to help with mechanical objects rather than something that is free flowing, like painting. However, he enjoys fighting aesthetically just as much as the other two yet he is the one to point out problems rather than Jolt.
Moveset: Rain Dance, Razor Shell, Protect and Water Pulse
Ability: Shell Armor (blocks critical hits)
Name: Mia
Species: Swellow
Gender: Female
Personality: Gabriel acquired Mia during his trips throughout Sinnoh but the pair easily bonded. Mia is the least curious of the three pokemon but is the most strong as she lived alone for the longest time of the three. She is the one which would point out when they are stealing something that the others want to break down and examine instead of willingly participating in the theft, therefore, making her the look out on most occasions.
Her demander is kind and open but because she had to fend for herself so long after being abandoned by her first trainer, she can easily fight aggressively as the other two do. Despite the fact that Lan and Jolt fight better together as a team, she too can fight with either of them affectively. Mia is somewhat the tag along pokemon and sometimes feels like she is; however, she understands that Gabriel and the others love her as equally as they love each other.
Moveset: Quick Attack, Aerial Ace, Air Slash, and Hyper Beam (2 turns and rarely used)
Ability: Guts (raises attack if suffering)
