I can't find it myself, and so the answer must bow to logic. If you change factions, you must start over. Only very famous changers who have been cleared by the new faction's upper hierarchy would be allowed to maintain a similar rank, and all of those are going to be NPCs.
Scenario 1) You have left Magma to join the rebellion. In Magma you were not shy about your affiliation, since Magma has control, but became disenchanted with their methods and felt they were doing things wrong. You "defect". However, the leaders do not trust you, and you must prove yourself, because it is well known you were once magma. Thus, you start from the beginning. Scenario 2) You have left Aqua or the Rebellion and joined Magma. Your presence in those teams is NOT well known, and you have more or less gone unmarked by the new team. They do not know you, and so you start from the beginning. -------------------- |

Yep. As the link below says - New character, new rank. You'll start from the bottom, I'm afraid.

My question is, where did my completed RP go? I've been looking for Devil in Disguise, but it isn't with the other completed RPs and none of my links take me to the page anymore. I just wanted to read over some things in order to make sure that I keep characters consistent and all that.

I found it in the Archive section and moved it back. It was likely archived by mistake, for the similarity to the OOC thread that was also moved there.

I'm thinking of returning to Uprising, but I have not Rped here since my last (And First) RP ended on Dec 9 2009. Is there any major change that has happened between then and now? And are there any good ways of explaining the vacancy of my character for so long?

There really haven't been any major changes in the story, if that's what you're thinking. I wouldn't say that looking over the Rules and Information pages would be a bad thing. It's good to do a refresher. As for activity-wise, there is a fanfiction contest going on, but everything else is, for the moment, mainly the same.
As for your character having been gone for so long, you could use the excuse of a family member getting injured and having to take care of them, getting injured yourself, falling into a canyon and getting lost for multiple days (isn't that a new movie...?), or you could just act like you've been on secret missions and not give any great detail. :P -------------------- |

I don't know if this has been covered before, but how do we deal with issues like euthanasia in Uprising? It's part of a conversation in the fanfiction that I'm working on for the contest. I figured that while Nurse Joys like veterinarians prefer to heal and make pokemon/animals better, part of their job may also be to put an animal/pokemon down when there is simply no way to heal them. Nurse Joys seem to have much better technology, but I imagine there are still instances when they must at least consider euthanasia.
However, I guess I want to double-check and make sure this is okay to talk about, since it's kind of dark and never really discussed. -------------------- |

From what I gathered, Uprising is aimed at a more mature audience and it has a somewhat darker theme than PANE in the first place. Pokemon, like animals, die. That's a fact with which even kids have to cope. I'm no mod, obviously, but I don't think it should be off limits and I think it would make more sense for you to fit it in your story how it would naturally fit. Make something up. Make it real. I think people would much prefer to read something honest if dark than for you to try to censor yourself.

I guess Youth in Asia would be handled much like the youth elsewh-- OH!
The thing is, in all source materials, pokemon simply aren't like other animals. For one thing, it is implied that other animals would never be able to be stored in the capture mechanism of a pokeball. Like humans, they would be zapped by the retrieval beam as if it were an electric shock. Pokemon therefore heal faster and more completely. However, they can die, as shown in the games. I would say, if you handle it, handle it with tact and dignity and not like my opening joke. :P -------------------- |

Yzarc basically stated my thoughts on the matter. Uprising, while not rated R due to children being present, is darker themed than PANE. Whilst the war within this roleplay is different from the wars in our world, they exist, and therefore, so does danger, and death is a constant presence. I do not think it should be ignored for the sake of censorship, but I also believe that art should imitate life.

Regarding the move Mean Look, does it just make it so you can't return a pokemon to it's pokeball or does it restrict the pokemon to remaining in the battle even if the trainer calls it to their side?

The way it's used in game, you have to keep that pokemon in the battle.

Can a Pokemon, in battle, be both poisoned and paralyzed? The games don't allow it, but I just want to check if it's the same in RP.

Tough Question. It would be all right, I suppose, to STATE that both effects are active, but you're basically looking at a pokemon that's destined to be knocked out.
Yes, I think we can say so, but try not to inflict it on other people's pokemon without them knowing that's what'll happen. -------------------- |

For the character I'm making, I would like for them to be a P.I. Is that ok? If so, should I mention that in the preferred faction or somewhere else, like other notes?
Also, in the appearance section, is it ok to mention for her blouse to dip down enough to reveal some cleavage, without going into detail, or should I just say that it's a bit revealing? I know you were saying this was aimed to be more mature, but I was just checking due to forum rules and all. A PI is an occupation. If this person is a civilian, then you can just put it in the bio. There is no need to make it a faction. Remember, the city is pretty much taken over by Magma, so a Magma PI (not to b confused with the guy who wore Hawaiian shirts and rocked a mustache) would simply be an investigator. Probably much the same with Aqua and the Rebs.
I consider Uprising to be PG-13 at the very best. I don't know what the age range is of the current player base, but the story line is more mature. Besides, you've pretty much said she sports some cleavage here, so it's a bit late to censor it -------------------- |

Is it possible to 'tutor' a pokemon with an Egg Move as the character progresses? No doubt it would have to be taught by someone who knows the pokemon is capable of doing the move or a move the pokemon could discover by accident.

I'm not sure how you mean to tutor in this way. A pokemon who has an egg move due to the species of their father will be able to use that egg move upon their hatching. As they grow, the strength of the move will also grow. If you wish to have a pokemon be taught by a character how to better use this move for narrative purposes or character development, then that is for you to do if you like, provided the rules and mechanics of egg moves are no defied.

Also, if the egg move you wish to have your pokemon learn is not what the pokemon's father can teach it, then you cannot learn it, unless it is learnable in another way (TM, tutor, ETC).
